Holding its value really well just like MK.

Will still wait a few months till the price drops, as there really is no urgency to play single player games on day one anymore, unless its an RPG, by which I mean a REAL RPG, not some action adventure game like Mass Effect 2.

Over rated, played and completed in a week. Got £28 at cex for it glad i cashed in when i did.
No multi player makes this a big fail imo.

This will be less than £20 in no time.

I don't know whether to get this game or not, so many mixed reviews and its so hard to try to separate reviews made by CoD fanboys and everyone else.

It has no replay value, its nothing like gta ie sandbox game where you can mess about. Its just repetative interviewing and solving slight puzzle nonsense.

Garbage mediocre game

edit: It does look nice but chugs along some times, time for a new console tbh.

Great game, very original and very different to anything else i've ever played. the mixed reviews are due to the normal GTA crowd, the ones who just want GTA again and again and again...... Well done Team Bondi/Rockstar, nice to see that some developers have some balls and don't just go back to the old tried and tested formula, they took a chance on this one and it has really paid off, great game( if u have half a brain), GTA fans will be mostly disappointed, due to the fact that that franchise is finished, moved on, thank god!

Rent it, i completed it in about 15 hours. After the main story is done theres nothing to do but finish up the street crimes which last a minute each.

So rent or buy but cash in while its hot.

The gta franchise has not finished, you can bet there will be another its a money machine.

I hope you're not one of those people who think every game has to have a multiplayer component

GTA is far from finished, the 5th installment is in the works according to leaked casting lists and what not.

The problem is with this game, it looks like they decided to make a GTA game then put in mocap and stuff later on. There is no problem with a linear game - it seems Rockstar thinks that it must be open world for it to be big hit success.

Also, the ending totally ruins it. The worse game ending of all time.

Completed it last night, brilliant game. Going to get the Rockstar pass now for the DLC.

I'm only halfway through myself, but it's definitely an enjoyable experience. The setting and environment is truly wonderful as well as the cars and music. It's not the typical GTA sandbox or as long as a GTA story would last, but it's more atmospheric and cinematic which still makes it worth the playing experience. It's completely original and while some things are a little repetitive in the game, it's still a better game than the vast majority of releases so far this year.

No multi player makes this a big fail?

That's the problem with modern day gamers, they expect multi player online for 'everything'. Some games aren't meant to be multi player experiences, but immersive single player stories, and for the better. There's nothing you could really implement to make multi player worthwhile for LA Noire, possibly a cops and robbers mode but that's about it. So ultimately it was a brilliant decision and direction to make this a single player only game as we're far too frequently fobbed with half-baked multi player modes just stuck on after the real story is finished for no real reason.

The same can be said for the BioShock series. A wonderful story experience, with pointless thrown in multi player modes for the sake of it when it should be left out.

The fact that LA Noire is holding it's value so well is just more reason to give the game a try. Most here have completed it in a week they say, and while I prefer taking more time during games and not playing for hours on end, it just means that once completed you'll be wasting very little money, if any at all really when selling it.

I hear with a Blockbuster voucher you can rent Blu-rays and games for just £1 on Wednesdays, so it might be worth looking at that! It was posted on here a few weeks ago, and all you need to do is find the link and print off the voucher.

I really enjoyed it but paid £30 and sold it for £30 the same week.

It's a lot better than most of the games that plummet to £17.99 within a month, yes people have some strange perceptions of it (given that it's Rockstar) but I really don't see how multiplayer would have fitted into this

Still took me 20 hours to finish (didn't bother finishing more than 19 side missions) and I feel I got my money's worth

God this game was so dull.

this is a woefully bad game. its so bad i am feeling the need to say this on every LA Noire thread. the only game in the last two years that i have got rid of without finishing.

RDR and GTA wipe the floor with this game due to the quality and variety of the missions. This game is a poor Heavy Rain clone if anything.

I thought it was a good game. Not fantastic but good.

It reminded me of the PS2 game 'The Getaway' which is not a bad thing.

The main problem with it for me, is that when you've interviewing characters in the game and you get a couple of questions wrong early on in a case, you don't feel compelled to complete the mission well.

And as others have said, the sandbox nature of the game is a bit pointless, when there is little to do other than complete the case in hand and ocassionally tackle a street crime.
