Umm I was reluctant to stick up a dish for Freesat HD so wouldn't bother with this personally but it's not a bad price if ya can't get Freeview I guess anyway.

I'm sure this will only be SD but as you say, good if you can't get freeview (we can't) given that the analogue switch off is now under way.

I thought it was cheap enough for the dish/lnb and stuff. You can still pick up an hd box of your chhosing and stick this one on fleabay.

Is this capable of receiving foreign football channels such as canal+ etc

+ postage ?????

This is good for
28 deg Astra (UK Freesat)

+19 deg Astra (Western European Channels = EuropSport, CNBC, CNN 24hrs, and many more)
+Hotbird 13 deg (Eastern European + Arab Channels)
but only if you live in the south of England. For North/Scotland you need at least 90 cm dish.

Canal+ is encrypted. So far as I know the only way to get it is either with your own card or with a card share system (which I think is illegal and would need an STB costing nearer £100 anyway)

You would be able to get eurosport I think. Check the lyngsat.com site for channel listings. An FTA receiver will pick up all unencrypted digial channels. You'll certainly get a number of free French and German channels. Not sure about exactly what you'll get on a 60cm dish - it depends where you are in the uk anyway.

I live in North yorks and have a 90cm dish. I can get sats from 30W (spanish) through to around 45E (greece/turkey)

thanks for the replies

Have a look at the original deal (Linked by the therapist) - has some good advice on what you'll need for the footy etc.
