Trio of films featuring the incomparable (and hilarious) Maggie Smith.

Like a female Olivier or Gielgud, she effortlessly outshines those around here.

3 very different films - 3 superb performances.

'Ladies in Lavender' (2004) is a heart-warming tale about unfulfilled dreams, innocence and unrequited love. Janet (Smith) and Ursula (Judi Dench) are sisters who discover a castaway on the beach below their house. They nurse him back to health with the help of the local doctor (David Warner) and discover he has a talent as a musician.

'Gosford Park' (2002) is set at Gosford Park country estate in 1932. As the weekend progresses a number of secrets and hidden relationships begin to come to light, and this situation is hastened further when Sir William McCordle (Michael Gambon), the owner of the estate, is discovered murdered, and various guests and staff come under suspicion.

'Keeping Mum' (2005) is a comedy starring Rowan Atkinson as Walter Goodfellow, a well-meaning vicar of the parish of Little Wallop, who is so obsessed with writing the perfect sermon that he is oblivious to his wife Gloria's (Kristin Scott Thomas) dallience with her brash golf instructor, Lance (Patrick Swayze). Enter Grace (Smith), a sweet grey-haired old lady who has a very unusual way of solving problems.
