Good price if you're teetering on the brink of buying and need an excuse - like wot I was.
Was cheaper in December but my time machine is broken, so...

I'm still teetering from the Bowmore

Is it fair to say this seems expensive for an 8 year old? Or is it just a better quality than most? Comparing against the Glenfiddich 15, which I find excellent.

So entirely different to a GF15, poles apart whisky wise but if you appreciate a good drink like gf15 then you should try this in a bar and think about buying a bottle.

I have my 16, Distillers and my 12 (plus a bottle and a quarter of this the 8yr old) would love to see this below £39.99 again - but give me 6 months and would probably bite your hand off for this price.

That said while I can pick up Finlaggan for £30 or £33 for regular sipping then I need this to go below £40.

But if you are just startin to build a collection then grab this now, nearly as good as the 12 but nearly half price.

. . . . Search for Nick Offermans Lagavulin adverts - classic.

Its extremely close to Lagavulin, some believe its actually made by them.

Its very popular in the states (and can be picked up for about $23) but gets overlooked here in the Uk.

If you wanted to explore the peaty/salty Islay Whiskies but were put off the higher prices then the Finlaggan Old Reserve could be a decent drink to start with.

Bought the Lavulin Distillers edition for £38+, the Lagavulin 16 around £31.53 RTC at Tesco Addlestone. Still loads left. Singleton Tailfire £21+.

Got Talisker Distillers Edition also for £29. Lots left for Talisker 10 for £21

I'm a big Laphroaig fan, and have also a healthy stock of Ardbeg. I have a bottle of Lagavulin but I'm saving it for a special occasion. I love my peaty drams so anything that lives up to those big names is worth a try. Bottle ordered

Would be nice but I have already had to sneak the Finlaggan in as OH is not happy about the amount of whisky currently in the cupboard. Any more and she will notice

Sipping now. Why I am only finding this dram now. Beautiful and peaty with a great nose. This won't be my last bottle
