Anyone hoovering any of the GOT offers up might note that the Clynelish is slightly cheaper on Master of Malt with free delivery. Just saying...

Tempted. Not a GOT fan, but £36 for any Lagavulin is very good and i’ve read some decent reviews
Consistently rated higher / at the top-end of all other whiskies in the GoT collection, for example:
thewhiskeywash.com/rev…on/

House Lannister – Lagavulin
Vital Stats: 46%, nine years old
Appearance: Mid gold
Nose: Classic Lagavulin here. Banana and dried mango, puffs of wet smoke, sandalwood, incense, rich malt syrup, and that damp wool sweater you wore to a barbecue and left wadded up in your trunk.
Palate: Very sweet and a little earthy up front, with some dried banana, strong smoke, clove, burnt caramel, salty dark caramel, and lots of saline maritime goodness, with mint, cannabis, and lanolin peeking through. The long finish is oddly cooling and refreshing, with spearmint, eucalyptus, ash, and salt. Very fun.
tempted to buy a couple (one for me, one to sell further down the line)

not a GOT fan at all, but this is the cheapest i've ever seen *any* lagavulin in a long long time!
Already commented on this on the Mortlach 15 thread. This is a good deal.

Lagavulin tend to price younger whiskies higher than their standard 16yo price.

Good luck finding anything older than 16yo from them at a sensible price

Ordered (to drink, not gather dust in the hope these get more expensive).

I’ve done this. Might be worth nothing in years to come especially without the complete set, but I can always drink it Incidentally it works out around £340 for all 9 with current amazon offers
Never mind the packaging, this is a good deal so heat added from me. Two bottles arrive here tomorrow.
Got it and also the Oban Little Bay reserve "The night watch" edition is the same price which is a bargain for Oban and Lagavulin.

Got this. Smells really weird. Can’t quite put my finger on what it’s like but somewhat chemical like smell. Please someone tell me they smell it too Great price though

You mean like a TCP hospital smokey type smell?

That will be the Phenols released from the peat.

Only thing putting me off the Oban is the suggestion that its best served chilled or over ice. Always a put off for me. It is a great price though
Where can you even sell this on?
Don't think you can sell on eBay can youM

I tend to disregard this type of suggestions
Yes, Whiskey auction online. Sold a couple of bottles of 1970's McCallan a couple of years back and it worked out well. The estimate before sale was easily exceeded. You may have to wait a few years before the GOT make a return, but they certainly will at some point.

Probably wise. I don’t mind if people drink whisky with ice or cold from the fridge/freezer if that is their preference, but I don’t like it being suggested by the distillery.

I totally agree with you about the distillery but here i think they got carried away a bit by the GoT theme and the Wall and the Night Watch. And at the end - The only valid definition of “good” whisky is “whisky you like to drink and the best way to drink is how you like it

These GOT "house of" whisky bottles are surprisingly very very nice.
For anyone considering the complete set and don't want to add nine separate items, there is a single listing that includes them all for the same price.

Yeah it's funny, those two were cheaper for the deal before Christmas.
While all the others cost a little more in that deal.
You can do a Subscribe & Save though for most, and cancel it after they're delivered - that gives you 5% off.
It also means you can secure the good price and then decide later if you still want it.

So I've overed two Obans and Lagavulin's on Subscribe & Save and may cancel one each.

What are the sweetest and easiest drinking in the range? I think Winter's Frost (Winter's Gold) and the Oban?

I'm not a fan of peaty whisky at all either.

Light Japanese whiskies are my favourite. Honey and Christmas cake in the tasting notes also appeal.

It's not for everyone but it is one of the main things that makes Islay whiskies and other heavily peated whiskies so popular.

You should look for some Sherry Cask finishes if you like a sweet whisky.

There's a few different auction sites around, most will be around £5 just to register (could be free if your just selling?).
There is normally a charge of between £3 and £5 per bottle just to list it for sale and some sites also take a commission from sellers on the final bid price too (5%?).
For buyers, they usually always pay to register and then pay around 10% commission on top of all winning bids.

Yes, sounds like a load of bother unless you going to make a significant profit. Best just drink it.

Got any recommendations? All I've seen is Toki Whisky in the supermarkets, and some other varieties that are no longer sold. But I wasn't adventurous enough to try.
