Fantastic deal, these really are good knives, but I cant find anywhere on the site that tells you their delivery terms and who they use. for all i know they might take 28 days for delivery which would be too late as i want them for a birthday gift.
Excellent quality product. Usually sell for £25 - £30 and expect to pay that if you want a fork set.
One thing that's missing from our kitchen. Thanks for this.
I bought these the last time around at £4.99. Only took a few days for delivery. Great value for money.
Took a week or two to arrive last time. The presentation box was white card, and the handles were cream coloured. I've received lots of spam off Readers Digest too. Still happy at £5
Were they fakes last time? Lots of ppl said they were
Yeah I got them last time - knives seem fine, 'presentation box' was card, and mine was all ripped, so they may not make the most attractive gift...
I got inundated with junk mail from Readers' Digest after I placed an order. It only stopped when I sent them an email telling them I requested they not use my personal infor for direct marketing under the Data Protection Act of 1998. Can't bring myself to risk getting on their mailing list again with an order, otherwise this looks a good deal.
The same price in TK Maxx!
thanks just ordered........ let the junk mail commence *arghhh*
Ordered 2 sets, if they're as nice as other Languiole knives that I've seen then this is a steal. Fingers crossed.
Everyone seems to complain about junk mail from them, surely a short email to them (as Skibster has done) will make them stop? I've done the same with other companies and they didn't hesitate to take me off the mailing list
Surely not ticking the 'opt-in' box at delivery address entry should mean no junk mail??
At TKMaxx they are at least double this price, when they have then in, which hasn't been for a couple of years at our local shops.
I bought 2 sets last time they were on hukd and forgot about them - took about a month to come but they are a real bargain, very nice to use. Haven't had any spam from readers digest - I ticked the box for no spam on the order page.
Got some french friends who bought some of these for us - top top top quality, this is one hell of a bargain. Scorchio.
I was planning to buy 2 of the steak knives from Tesco's 'special offer' at £6.99.

Ordered these 6 for £4.99 instead.

Heat added.

Ditto for me!
I may have to get these, I have the salad servers that go with them.

There are 2 versions of these though, the expensive ones, and these cheaper versions, but tbh unless you really 100% know what you are looking for, the cheaper versions look just as good as their top end ones.
Thanks op
Merci Beaucoup !
Thanks

The same price in TK Maxx!

Ah - but you don't have to get off your @rse to buy these!

I got these last time they were this price, they are cheap copies. My sister has a proper set from france and these are nowhere near the same quality, mind you for £4.99 what do you expect?!
absolute tat, suitable for students and low income families only

Like the famous one?
Especially when he wore a Red Kit.
(_;)
This deal was on MSE last night - I was HOPING they weren't copies as they say they are the Laguiole brand from France , so CAN Readers Digest do that when people get into right trouble for selling fakes on Ebay!!!

I wouldn't take a risk selling them on Ebay because they can't be real for that price! (_;)

In regard to the question "are these fake?" the answer is "no" however they might not be what you expect. Laguiole is a generic term to describe French knives crafted in the Laguiole region which is probably where these were genuinely made. However you may think you are getting knives produced by Forge de Laguiole (owners of laguiole.com) who are the premier producer of knives in the Laguiole tradition - you are not (well at this price, I doubt you are). What I expect you will get is a set of knives in the Laguiole style rather than a Forge de Laguiole set at a massive saving. I am not voting one way or the other as I am sure some people will be happy with them but I thought I would shed some light on this. I hope it has been of help if you are thinking of ordering.
Anyone know the size of the blades?

Thanks guru138 - That clears alot of things up for me!

I noticed there are some more expensive looking ones around with 3 rivets on the handles and a swish looking engraved logo on the blade itself but as these are not FAKE as such am happy I ordered some & found this deal on Readers Digest & their watches on offer for £5 aren't bad either

I have a feeling I will be pleased with these as they are definitely not 'tat' and who doesn't like a nicely dressed table for a nice steak dinner complete with STEAK KNIVES which is definitely not a regular occurrence for 'students or low income families'

What I mean is when I was on a lower income than I am now I wouldn't even be LOOKING at steak knives!!!

So glad I can have and enjoy some now and they look nice enough to me xx

Anyone know the size of the blades?

The blades are 10cm ( 4 inches in old money)
Link not working. Does it mean no stock?!
