Awful
Always 10
It's good rice, used a few times.
Really bad rice and too sticky and taste poor
Gluten free? First for me. Nice
Poor tasting basmati rice. Supermarket own brand basmati is usually better

Sorry OP , Not the best of Basmati rice, No flavour , No aroma .. and most of the time it comes at this price. Feels more like a long grain.
Worst rice ever. Seems to have a very brief window between being bitty and mushy. Kohinoor is so much better
Thank you for posting..voted hot.
No complaint for the rice .. I eat rice meal twice in a day every day so I assume it’s a decent one.
Few days ago I bought it from my local Bangladeshi grocery shop 20kg bag for £26
Good cheap place for large jasmine rice?
No complaints from me, i soak the rice for 1hr, rinse a few times then pressure cook. It comes out perfect all the time.
I'm not sure about all the bad comments. This is far better than any supermarket rice I've ever tried.
Just been to the Tesco Metro in Bow and it's at full price £17.50.
don't know why basmati rice is so expensive in supermarkets, you'll find the same brand cheaper if you go to asian grocery shop or halal butchers, I brought the Laila 5KG for £6.99.

Good timing. Just opened the last bag last night and thinking that I need to keep an eye out for a deal.

Have you considered that it may be how you are cooking it, that's responsible for the taste. We have used this for several years.
Oos?

Yes I cooked it in rice cooker and pan cooked, both came out with bad taste. It's not the cooking it's the rice that's the problem. I tried Akash, Kohinoor and Tilda Basmati cooked same way never had a problem
I give laila rice 8/10
Badshah rice 9/10
White pearl rice 10/10

I know my rice. I eat every other day.
Worse rice in my opinion is AKASH and TILDA brands.
I would never let these brands in my kitchen.
They are rubbish.
Worst rice ever!!! Won't even get these if they were for free 🤭

Shows how much you know then
Made in China??
As long as there is no offensive odour and the rice doesnt come out mushy then normally any basmati is a good rice to me.
Being Asian and having to cook rice couple of times a week, I normally wash the rice last minute and stick the rice cooker on just before meals. However, when I leave my rice to soak for a while before rinsing and cooking (1-2 hours) my rice actually comes out fluffier and seems tastier.
If you have the time, definitely give it a go and see the difference.

Lesson in rice for you
How does this compare to my usual badshah basmati rice. I don’t want to buy and then find that it is not as good, as it’s a pretty big bag to go through
Asda same price
