Snap! But just one ordered! Always enjoy this release
Just checked the FOL site and the twelfth edition is in bundled sets.
I was just remarking that my whisky collection was thinning...
COLD, not a rubbish 1p deal from B&M

I think that’s some weird typo. It’s batch 011 in the bundle sets
Double in price in the secondary market? Doubt it, there will be loads on the auctions sites, you can get last year's for £55 now. Still a great whisky though

They can’t get anything right on their site...
Decent price, all things considered. Funnily enough, I was checking my emails earlier, and saw that I paid £48 including postage from Laphroaig's site for natch 006 in 2014. The website is now an absolute mess and has been for some time. Same goes for Ardbeg's site.

Yeah. Thank goodness their whisky making skills far exceed their IT skills. I picked up 2 bottles of batch 010 for £127 last year with delivery. More expensive now, but well worth the price Imho. laph 10CS is an absolute must for any Islay fan. It’s one of the godfathers of Islay whisky (of should that be chieftains?) 🏻

I couldn't login at the time. I don't think I can now either. Not that I'm all that bothered really. I preferred Bowmore's Tempest 10 CS line. Sadly discontinued now.
Why would anyone want to drink this unfiltered muck? Stay classy HUKDers!

Yeah, no idea what’s going with Bowmore. Hopefully they sort their act out. Can’t rely on past glories/reputation indefinitely!

They have the same owner as Laphroaig. I'm not really a fan of either's core range. Reminds me that Caol Ila used to do a NAS CS release, they too have become a bit stagnant.

I do get the sense a lot of Islay distilleries are starting to rest on their laurels. Islay is very much in fashion. Regrettably that means more NAS and less ABV. I am tending to look further afield these days. Ledaig, Glen Scotia, Benromach being classic examples

Should keep an eye out for independent bottlings then. Lots of surprises and quality about.

I'm going to look at Ben Nevis before their prices go up and products get discontinued. I'm fine with NAS if the quality is good and price is fair. Not many examples though, I can only think of Longrow for that.

This is true. I've had some great value G&M Caol Ilas in the past, but G&M have now 'premiumised' their range.

I'm at a tasting on friday. If anything decent comes up and I remember, I'll report back.
I can't get on with Laphroaig personally but a great heads up for those that do! Heat

I think that’s partly a supply and demand thing. The explosion in popularity of Scotch worldwide in the last 10 years, both with investors and with drinkers, has left a lot of distilleries caught short on what they have laid down to mature and what capacity they have to install to meet demand.
When I visited Highland Park on Orkney three years ago, they were saying this had affected them and it was one reason why prices of age statemented single malts had increased so quickly. They were increasing capacity then but didn’t expect that to have a real affect until 2026 onwards.
It’s why new distilleries are being built and old mothballed ones are being recommissioned.

You can get a batch 010 bottle for £55? Can you send me a link. I'm looking at £115 on Amazon...

Heat added by the way. This is a fantastic price as Laphroaig themselves were selling at £89 and sold out quickly. Ordered 2.

I think his £55 might have been a one off but batches 9 & 10 are going for £70 on SWA. You will have to hold these for a long time if you want to double your money. Best just drinking them!

And I bought 2 as well!!

Price has been hovering between the £60 to £75 mark since release, with a few dropping to £55. There were 4 that went about £160 but that was the 1st month of release and doubt that'll happen with this release as so many people will be putting them in early

not sure if you're trying to disprove the £55? Am I misunderstanding?

as i said, batch #10 can be got for £55 and on SWA, the average selling prices of the last 10 bottles is £62.50

scotchwhiskyauctions.com/auc…10/

just want people to be aware if they are buying it for profit only they could lose money, in fact if you want to buy this release you might be as well wait to get it at auction. So many people are flipping bottles (and driving down prices) you can sometimes get them cheaper in the first month of auctions (I got a few longrow red for rrp at auction last year)
Remember you’ll pay 10% + Vat on the hammer price and £10.80 for delivery
try before you buy , i could not drink the bottle i have

of course,

delivery dependant on your location to the auction house - I'm lucky enough to stay 10 mins from one - scotland crap for beer & wine deals, great for picking up whisky, lol

I'm more making the point (or warning) to people who may believe they can double their money on this when in all likely hood you'll lose money
