Laphroaig Lore Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 70 cl - £59.95 @ Amazon

Laphroaig is the world’s most richly flavoured Single Malt Scotch Whisky, providing the most distinctive and rewarding malt whisky experience. Founded in 1815, it is one of only a few distilleries that still uses traditional malting floors, and dries and infuses its own malt with the thick blue smoke from old peat-fired kilns. Laphroaig Lore is a complex marriage of ages and classical styles. The marriage draws from the peaty power of Laphroaig but with the smoothness of double matured stock finished in European oak hogsheads. For further depth and complexity we used our most heavily peated whisky, matured in ex-Laphroaig barrels, along with some fully sherry matured casks. The result is stunningly complex. 2019 International Spirits Challenge Silver, 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Awards Silver, 2019 SIP Awards Silver.

Very very very tempted, although history tells us that it should get down to £55 or even £50 between now and Xmas.
I have had a bottle of this before, paid a bit more than this. In Hindsight in not sure it’s twice as good as two bottles of quarter cask at cheap amazon prices. Still, good price for this and those wishing to try it.

I got the cairdeas fino for 50 a few months back off the laphroig site. Mind blowingly good.

Where is that? Amazon price trackers show its lowest ever price at £56.90 (last December)

Someone quoted in another deal I posted that lightning deals don’t show up on the camels. Always the chance it could be one of those if that’s true.
£55 is the lowest price in recent times on Amazon. £59.95 is still a great price for this tho.
Can't afford but I am sure its real good
Bought last year, it's nice but definitely not worth twice as much as QC or Laphroaig 10.
Similar to others, I had a bottle of this a couple of years ago. The recipe is a marriage of many Laphroaigs, some of which is up to 25 years old - Laphroaig 25 is my favourite whisky, which led me to giving this a go. It's a beautiful whisky for sure, but I don't think I'd pay more than £50 for it again.
Yeah I know people harp on about No Age Statement whiskies but IMO this Laphroaig clearly tastes like they have included old whiskies in there and doesn't feel youthful at all - especially when compared to the Quarter Cask.

Is it twice as good as the 10yr or Quarter Cask? No it isn't, but that's not how whisky works my friends and make no mistake, the Lore is better than either of these malts. I think £60-£65 with occasional drops to £50 every now and then probably would have been a much more attractive pricepoint for this malt, but Islay whiskies do tend to be aggressively priced once you get away from the core range.

BTW Waitrose do this for £65 a bottle, but you can sign up to waitrose online and get at the very least a £20 off first shop voucher (usually £20 off first X number of shops) and unlike other supermarkets they let this offer stand for alcohol, so you can get the Lore for less than £50 if you pad your shop out. Also once a member Waitrose send you vouchers periodically (every two months or every month, I forget)that offer stuff like £20 off £120 spend, £15 off £100 spend, etc, so you can use that to get Lore cheap as well!
