Thanks OP.
It’s £25 in ASDA too if you collect; would need to pay something for delivery I assume, never ordered from them as mine’s so close I can crawl there when I run low..

I'd hold out for the ten year old that is sometimes available at the same price.
Lovely stuff this. In fact any Islay whisky is a winner. Can't have too much of that lovely peat.

Completely agree! No comparison
Even hold out for quarter cask which was going for around £28 recently and drops in price every now and again. Select, although nice enough, doesn’t have a decent finish imo. A bit bland in comparison with the rest of the Laphroaig range.

Agree, the quarter cask is the one to go for when on offer below £30. However, if you want to keep trumping we are moving into Ardbeg territory 😁
Same price in asda. Heat regardless.
This is usually £25. Laphroaig is my favourite of the single malts, but this is the weakest of the lineup. Far too harsh for me. Stick with the 10 year old or the amazing Quarter Cask.
Just buy a bottle of Laphroaig 10 when it's £30 and water it down until it's a litre: Hey presto: Laphroaig Select 1litre for just £5 more.

It's not bad per say, just not worth spending any money on when you can get much better whiskies for the same price. The 10yr and the Quater Cask just blow this weak flavoured spirit out of the water for relatively little extra price.

This can often be had at this price or lower. Its not terrible but you cannot help compare it to it's stable mates the 10 year old & Quarter Cask, where it rather comes up short.

If you can wait , wait for Quarter Cask at around £28-£30 which it seems to hit more often than it used too. Don't forget Quarter Cask is 48% ABV verses this at 40% ABV which makes it a far better buy just on quantity (assuming you add some water) let alone quality.

The 10 does not seem to hit lower than £28 these days probably because of the amount of Stock they have.

Both Lidl and Aldi Islay offerings are comparable to Select IMO and a lot cheaper.

Agree with this. Quarter Cask is the best of the bunch, would steer well clear of Select. For a cheap whisky Lidl's Ben Bracken Islay at £17.50 is better than this is.
Agree with stellamaris et al, would rather buy the Aldi offering than Select. QC is much better for a couple of quid more and personally, I prefer 10yo to QC and Ardbeg, but that's just me!

Which one at Aldi?
Tastes like a dug up corpse that’s been set on fire
