cracking deal mate .

Seems like the same one that was £247 in Asda a couple of weeks ago.

I like the CQ61

How does this processor compare to Intel counterpart? will it be good enough for bbc iplayer and youtube HD?

Original Poster

As far as your connection can cope the machine won't have any problems.

So would a netbook perform better than this...especially for watching iPlayer/Youtube (maybe youtube HD)....it has HDMI connector....so maybe graphics card takes some of the processing stress?

Original Poster

netbooks normally run with atom processor.
Maybe you can check on the website that rakdamac posted.
I am quite happy with it. it performs really well, and at that price can't complain at all

cpu ok for netbook it scores 591 as opposed to 305 for n270 what is fitted to most netbooks so faster than most netbooks and good gpu (for a netbook) voted hot edit thought is was netbook because of price but still not bad for price though

Thanks for the info.

Single core processor on a brand new machine?

Single core processor on a brand new machine?

Why not? Plenty of single core atoms, and low powered core 2 solos.

Its the graphiics that let this down, 8200 worse than the 4500mhd for accelerating HD content as some is offloaded to cpu.
A radeon 3200 would have been nice.

Battery does not last anywhere near 6 hours....more like 2.5 hours

Googling it looks as if it is a dual core processor:

It's single core - AMD website;

How would this handle Oblivion (with the Oldblivion patch, obviously)?

What?! Stop laughing. I know it's an old game, but it's all I want to play.

Oblivion's not very old, it was only released in 2006.

We'll be complaining about the speed of the i7 cpus in 5 years time

Atom cpu performance is fine if you're using it as intended - eg, not playing crysis at 1920x1080.

Or not having more than one tab with youtube open...

I have a netbook and use it regularly, but at 2.7kg this is not a machine you want to be carrying around a lot so is the performance sacrifice worth it?

Great brand/build quality and a really nice deal. I'd say it also has an excellent spec for the price point.

This is far better than any netbook because it has a screen size you can actually use comfortably because it's a notebook.

anyone got a product code

After a couple of days using it, it is brilliant. Not slow at all, had youtube and iplayer at the same time.
The screen resolution is fantastic. On the low point, battery is never going to last 6 hours. 3.5 at the most.

Can't find one anywhere.
