I too have this model, it is very plasticky and battery is pants (2 hours or so of actual use). That said it is a good laptop, it will run any game at the moment at a reasonable frame rate, it’s great for 3D modelling and most applications. Ram is upgradable to 64gb and it is very easy to add an additional Nvme SSD. In terms of bang for buck I don’t think you will find a better laptop at this price point for some time

I have this exact model, it’s a great gaming laptop for me but my only gripe is the battery life, even with really light use I barely get 2 hours before it needs recharging again, as laptops go you get a lot of bang for your buck with this I think!

this laptop has been on and off at this price regularly and cheaper, the previous katana deal at £950 2 months back with 3070 didn't even get this much heat whats going on with hukd! for the price might as well spend the extra and get your self higher wattage rtx 3070 laptop will be well worth it if you can spend £1000 might as well spend the extra imo

Looks decent - I know some of the mobile GPU’s have different power levels with quite a performance difference between the eg 100w and 140w versions (not specific mobile 3070 examples but you get the idea). So might be worth checking if that’s the case here and if so which iteration of the GPU it is.
This is a 85w GPU, 1080p etc.. I was looking at all the laptops in Currys.

good specs for a laptop, have some heat from me!
I prefer my Pc for gaming but I understand that some people don't have the space or need to be mobile etc. Could simply be preference

Tempted. Had my current MSI for about 10 years and has been brilliant. Falling apart, dvd drive, webcam and mic no longer work but it's been a workhorse!
I'm in the exact same boat! On my GE72 6QC with its lovely old GTX960M Can't play anything recent on it (except Football Manager) so looking to upgrade in the next year or so! But yes DVD drive hasn't worked for years and there's a buzzing coming from somewhere but it's working!
