This is the problem with some users of this website, the site asks the users the question if this is a good deal or not? Its not asking your opinion if you like the film or not? Thats what IMDB is for. The likely answer given your comment is that you dont like the film, hence it will never be a “deal” at any price and therefore you are just misusing the site to give your opinions on films, rather than deals.

IMDB rates the film at 5.8/10 by the way, which i think is much more fitting than the 3.9/10 you refer to.

If someone is selling a turd for £7.99, and they're selling it cheaper than all the other turd peddlers, they're still selling you a turd.

I enjoy the movie, despite said turdiness, but I still wouldn't pay £7.99 for it.

...and yet you still give an opinion no one asked for!

99% of the items on this site are not relevant for me because i dont want them. I do however appreciate a deal when i see one so i still vote on that “bag of nails for 99p at B&Q” deal because i know its a good price compared to what it should normally cost. I dont feel the need to enter the topic and state that “iron nails arent as good as the diamond nails i once used 12 years ago...id rate these nails 2/10 as they suck”. The reverse is also true, people blindly vote hot just because the like the subject matter, for a fictional example “New England Rugby Shirt on sale now at full RRP of £69.99” gets heat because people support the team despite the fact £69.99 for a rugby shirt is poor value.

If everyone voted on the deals on this site with the correct mindset, the deal rating would be a lot more accurate for the users.

Didn't realise I needed permission to share an opinion. However, posting the IMDB rating (which, btw, is a collection of opinions) must mean you're endorsing the posting of opinions, no?

If you follow the thread rather than try and be clever, youll see that was in response to the comment made by “hotuklols”.

If i wanted to state ratings i could have done in in the opening post.
Why are you referencing the disc price, it's a completely different format. This film has only been as high as £7.99 in the last three years, lowest £4.99.

Thanks for enlightening me about the disc, however I think you will find the format (4k) is the same but the mediums used (digital and disc) are different. The price of the disc version was also referenced for the benefit of people with 4k technology as there is pretty much only 2 real ways to buy this at the moment in the UK, Disc or iTunes. If I was looking to buy the disc for £19.99 I would like to be informed of other significantly cheaper options that may be available like iTunes for £7.99.

One other thing considering the film was only released YESTERDAY in 4k, I somehow doubt the 3 year price history (prior to it being in 4K) of Tomb Raider on iTunes is relevant to the topic.

I agree, far to many people on here rate the product rather than the deal, and then call out the different formats which aren’t part of the posted deal

Great price! heat from me.
Why do you post so many deals and then have long pointless drawn out arguments with anyone who dares to offer a negative opinion?

This is relevant to me though, as I buy movies and didn't think Tomb Raider is worth £7.99. Didn't vote it cold because of the film, but because of the price.

The correct mindset according to you? I vote based on whether I believe something is worth the value posted. If there is something which I have no interest or knowledge in, I won't vote.

Ah, never mind, you're argument is falling apart so you're implying everyone else is stupid and missing the point (Despite Mango Carrot raising a good point that comparing the price of a digital copy to a physical copy of a movie is a bit odd).

Look, everyone on the site posts cold deals. No need to get upset and / or have a meltdown when it happens. It's only imaginary internet points which, last I checked, aren't accepted as currency in the shops so are totally worthless.

The iTunes 4k experience is unlikely to be the same as the disc (especially in the audio department). It may even be better. Devil's advocate
Edited by: "robjewitt" 27th Feb
£8 is always a great price for 4k digital, if you interested in the movie, that is. Me personally won't pick it up as I've got my list in place for what am excited for in 4k hdr.

No, it isn't.

"But not all 4K content is born equal, and an Apple TV 4K stream is no match for the equivalent UHD disc when it comes to picture quality."

Your (unattributed!) quote may (or may not) be from "What HiFi".

Other reviews differ and some have found little difference between UHD BluRay and Apple 4K

Quite correct, I misspoke, I did mean the medium not the format.

...but you still can't compare the two, because while the 4K upgrade might have been released yesterday, that's not what you're buying. You're buying the license to the HD version which you then get a free 4K version to stream, and stream only, and that's why the price history is relevant. A person with an ATV4 would still be paying the same price now, or historically.

It's like comparing a game in the Steam sale with a PS4 disc
Both tomb raider films are now 4K HDR at £4.99 each or a double pack for £9.98.
