Large 18oz Home Living Jar Candle Fresh Linen only £2.99 @ B&M retail

Found 6th Dec 2010
This is a large Jar candle labelled as Home Living, but is just like the large Yankee Candles, only way cheaper, and the scent is really nice. This is Fresh Linen, which is almost identical in both size and smell to the Clean Cotton / White Linen Candles sold in places like Homestore & More for approx £10

*IMPORTANT* Picture changed, perhaps this will be better!
The picture shown was incorrect, and was of the Yankee Candle version, as the one I took on my phone was too blurred, sorry, was in a hurry! and I can't find one on the internet, so this is the next best thing.TBH everything looks and the same, apart from the label.

I have to admit I'm not really into candles, but my OH loves them, and I have to admit that these not only burn very nicely, but also add a nice smell to your home, and that's coming from a guy! and as we know a few people who buy the Yankee ones, we got a few more for Gifts.

Anyway I didn't have time to notice, but I think they had others as well for the same price.

So you have taken a pic of a yankee candle, when it's not? A bit misleading tbh. Yet to find better candles than yankee.

No, I'm not trying to mislead, I have said that I used this picture, only because I can't use the one I took, or find a correct picture anywhere else.I've shown the yankee as that is what this is very similar too.My OH would agree with you, and swears by Yankee candles as being the best, but even she said that this smells identical.Even the jar looks identical, infact the only difference seems to be the label.

I voted hot as I saw Yankee in the candle and the pic was of a yankee candle. VERY misleading post and I for one think you should take the word Yankee out of the title and change the pic. I wouldn't of voted hot for a yankee rip off

I was in B&M last week and noticed these. At first glance I thought they were Yankee Candles. I had a sniff of a few and that was enough, they really were over powering and cheap smelling. Nothing like YC in my opinion. YC are very fragrant but subtle. Ok for £2.99 I guess but definitely not a hot deal. Sorry.

For that authentic council flat smell just light one of these and smoke a couple of packs of Rothmans.

OK, just to keep everyone happy, the title has been changed, and I have changed the picture so as not to mislead, which wasn't my intention, and was used purely because I couldn't find the correct photo, and these are very similar, sorry!

To the other poster, yes these smell different in the jar, but when burning are very similar.I find normal cheap ones give me a headache, not these, which are scented SOY candles made in the USA BTW

Whether it was your intention or not it is misleading. It's like posting an offer on a cheaper imitation of an Iphone but using an Iphone picture. A lot of people look at the picture and the price before reading the offer.

i have bought these b4 they dont smell as strong as a yankee so not for the yankee fans

Hmm, seems to conflict with another post above saying it was over powering, maybe it's because everyone's sense of smell is different, or they smoke or something? which I don't so couldn't say.

Either way, I wish I'd kept this one to myself, and not posted.I don't really care if it's a Yankee candle or not, what's important, is that it doesn't let of black smoke like the cheap ones, what it smells like, and whether it gives me a headache, as I suffer with chronic Migraines, and I'm satisfied with the scent this provides, which I find is very subtle and nice.

Anyway, sorry to all those who felt misled, and if you were one of them, I think someone has posted a deal for Yankee candles today, if you're interested @ £8.99?

I have the mango version of this from home bargains and it smells gorgeous! the whole living room smells lovelly after about 10 minutes of the candle burning!

Perfect for people who like scented candles but cant afford to pay the ridiculous prices that yankee candles are!

didnt realise yankee candle lovers got offended so easily!!

Whether you smoke or not sense of smell is different for us all and I don't smoke either! I found them over powering. Maybe it was the particular scent, who knows. But to be honest with you it makes no difference to this thread whether they were all lovely smelling or not, your thread was misleading using a Yankee Candle pic.

Thanks for the heads up on the "real" Yankee Candles deal.

Quite agree, that'll teach me to post offers on candles again!

Well I'm pleased at last there's someone who appreciates these candles, made it all worthwhile in the end, but never again!

I bought the christmas pud one of these and it smells lovely in the jar but hardly any fragrance when lit! shame really but it hardly broke the bank. I buy the real yankee ones and there is no comparison.

I wouldn't let the neg comments bother you there are some that can't wait to try and knock some one down just because the deal is not what they want

Tbh, the deal was misleading it's was eay to make the mistake of thinking it was a yankee candle, with the pic being a yankee candle and it being in the title.

Fact is it was a cheapo copy of a brand, exactly as one poster said you wouldn't list a knock off, of anything else and list it "like" the genuine thing.

Be it candles, I pads, clothes whatever, deals like that are never popular as it's misleading that's the way it is.

OMG, this got out of hand, it's a candle people, for £2.99.It is not a knock off, doesn't claim to be a yankee candle, it has it's own brand, just happens to look and smell similar, which is why I mentioned it, as we've had the Yankee ones ourselves, but this is a lot less money, in the same way that those perfumes you see at markets say if you like ***** you'll like this, or morrisons ketchup tastes similar to ***** ketchup, whether they do or not, is down to personal taste. The only mistake I made really was to post the wrong picture, which was misleading, and for that I'm sorry.
It's your money, your choice, if prefer Yankee candles thats fine, go look at the other deal, if on the other hand you want something similar, and want to save some money then this is for you.
Actually somebody on the Yankee post, has found a seller of these candles, but in different jars for £3.99, so as this is cheaper, it's a good deal is it not? unless you want a Yankee candle of course! Oh well, it was fun, but that's all folks!
Tinks, love the Avatar! very cute.

Thankyou, I can't afford Yankee!

Hal, you need to get your knickers out of that twist. The point isn't whether this candle is worse/better cheaper/more expensive than a yankee candle. The point is, you advertised in a misleading way. You can't argue that point so if I were you I would just be admitting it might of been misleading and move on.

Which is exactly what I did in my last post.I was just trying to help people out, saving them some money, but I made a mistake, I've apologised, changed the picture, changed the title, nothing else I can do, so yes I've moved on, and will stick to posting deals I'm more familar with, so lets end it there please.

Arrrggg I always like to have the last word though

great deal - great candles, these smell really good and last for agees - I have been getting them for a while, dont understand why anyone would spend 15 quid on a candle that burns away, maybe cos i dont have that sort of disposable income though!
