That's looks like a huge orchid for the money, absolute bargain!

These look lovely, however, I have already got a couple. On mine the flowers all fell off about a week ago - do they actually grow again, or has the plant now died? If the plant has died, I'll probably go and pick up some of these. Thank you.

Sophia, they do flower again but ime not very often and not for that long either, but that might be my lack of care! I guess what I'm saying is don't chuck the old ones but if you're looking for some colour take advantage and get some cheap at lidl.

I have several Orchards and one produces flowers non stop for 2 years and second for a year already. I don't feed them or do special care. They just like the place on windowsill with lots of light.

one of my orchids dropped all of its flowers in the space of about 2 days without warning. The only thing I did differently was to give it some plant food a few days before so I might have over done it. However it has grown three further stems from the main stem so it's bounced back nicely!
I wouldn't assume that yours is going to die, they are quite hardy despite the look of them.

i soak mine in tepid water once a week, when the flowers drop off cut the stem down to the 1st knuckle within 4 weeks a new stem will grow with more flowers.these last years with minimal care

Apparently orchids like stale water, so I keep the pot in a water filled container. Mine is really healthy and has been in flower since March

Most places instruct you not to put orchids in direct sunlight. They grow naturally beneath the jungle canopy on the floor.

I have several orchids, one of which has been flowering more or less constantly for over 5 years. It's not luck - they need care and special attention. There's plenty of information on the internet and several orchid-specific forums.

The ends (around 4") of the orchid stems are pale cream/brown in colour whereas the rest of the stems are bright green - do I need to cut the cream/brown bits off then? Thank you.

They also like humidity. I keep mine in my bathroom and they have flowered lots of times.

They're £4.50 in IKEA, not as cheap but cheaper than the supermarkets £10-£15 tag

We bought one from IKEA. It was small first, but has lots of flowers now after several months
