Large selections of "brew your own" beers/ciders £5.00 at Tesco

Found 26th Dec 2017
Having a quick shop around after the Xmas festivities and saw this selection of Brew your own beers/ciders (8 pints) for £5.00 at Tesco.

Takes 72 hours, just enough time for new years.

Been wanting one for a while so at £5.00 thought I'd bite and get it.

Hope it's handy for someone. Happy holidays.

Has anyone made these? What do they taste like and how long does it take before you can drink it?
Never seen these. Only the standard home brew kits where you need to buy all sorts then it takes weeks to ferment/brew. Thanks for posting.

Any idea what the final alcohol abv is?

Says 72 hours in the pic and desc
Don't waste a fiver they are terrible buy 4 cans instead it will taste better ... trust me.
i brew beer and tried these they are worse than drinking 4 day old dregs.
I also brew my own beer & can't see how these could work. Might tempt someone to take up homebrew though, so not all bad.
totally agree tried 2 of them and both were undrinkable
Tried the cider one it was full of sweeteners gives home brew a bad name

Ah that's a shame - for £5 it seems quite fun to experiment - or even as a late Xmas gift. Either way I'm happy to try it for a fiver!

Also, tesco have a some other sales on atm like £2.50 for 4 bottles of beers in their gift section etc.
Enjoy!
They don't taste too bad but have a horrid smell of egg as you drink them.

That'll be the sulphites trying to mask the crappy ingredients.

All good if it doesn't taste too bad!
For £5, it's a bit of fun - but it's about as technical as making orange squash. You'd never show that off to your mates, and you wouldn't want to show this stuff off either.

As above, spend a fiver on a few decent cans and know for sure that you're gonna have a drink you enjoy.

I've bought myself one for a gimmicky evening I'm sure they'll enjoy pouring their own drink from a keg.
Again, I’ve made the mixed Berry one, was pretty disgusting!

We tried making the cider one and found it tasted like a fruity, very sugary soft drink with no alcohol content whatsoever. Wouldn't even bother for a fiver to be honest.

Had mine brewing for 2 days now, waiting the full 72 hours and will give the verdict - happy so far with the experience of checking it and to see what it tastes like.
