thanks mate

Really need to get my tv on the wall. I am not a real man and not able to do the work myself. How did you guys get it up.

I have one of these, and I think its worth spending a bit more money, the threads cut into the brackets are not good quality.

Bought the smaller one of these for a 32 inch a few weeks ago and that was fine. This has been this price before but that was a misprice as the postage is normally 6-8 pounds on top

What do you mean you are not a real man? I guess you mean that you are no good with diy rather than being a woman?

If you are no good with diy, which I am, and I am still hesitant to put a bracket like this up, then perhaps you can get a quote from a handyman to put it up for you.

This is a simple job for a handyman so should not take long. It requires drilling the wall for attachment and working out how the bracket fit together. When the telly needs to go up it will be a 2 person job but you could then be the 2nd person.

Putting the bracket up isn't the tricky bit. Most have a built in spirit level and then you just need a big hammer action drill to mount it.

Hiding the wires is the tricky bit. I did mine when rennovating the flat so everything is raggled into the wall. Wall mounted is good, wall mounted without a wire to be seen is top!

But as someone has already mentioned, if there is any doubt about the quality of these, I'd look elsewhere. Is it really worth skimping on a few quid if there is a chance that several hundred quids worth of TV might fall off the wall? Certainly with a plasma (which mine is), I wouldn't risk this one due to the extra weight compared to an LCD .....

(One of the reviews on Amazon mentions no screws?!?!? If thats the case, I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole!)

thanks

Bought 1 last week for £1 more. Easily put together and fixing it up is a no-brainer if you have a hammer drill & a spirit level. All the fixings come with it so the reviewer must have misplaced them :-)

I wouldn't risk putting my 2 grand tv on such a flimsy item

I would recommend the designer habitat cantilever bracket from amazon instead

Best to use anchor bolts instead of the bolts supplied

One sure way to test it is to try to pull the telly off once mounted and see if it gives. Obviously support the telly while pulling in case it does give!

If it gives then return the wall mount to Amazon as they are pretty good at taking returns aren't they?

Have you a link ?

I used one of these.

Costs a bit more than this one but it's rock solid and it has to be cos it's a 50" plasma it's supporting which weighs a ton!

(They also do a non-tilting version which is cheaper)

No good for a plasma imo - ok for an LED 47" though.
