Thanks, just bought two on separate transactions to avoid import duty fees from Amazon. So cheap!
Cheers for this, what a bargain! Merry Christmas!

Literally just spotted that one myself! Unsure on the flavour so will skip that one. I hope they keep listing these!
I got Macintosh this morning (apple) - though I wasn't that impressed by Home Sweet Home - which is pretty mild, cinnamon-y scented.

I remember Honey Clementine from a QVC presentation a while ago and they were raving about it (but they gush about everything) - fingers crossed!

My Amazon US/Yankee Candle orders:

Macintosh candle was ordered 27/11/19 - arrived today (9 days).

Home Sweet Home was ordered 23/11/19 - received 1/12/19 (8 days).
£22.70 for me
Did anyone get this price? Shows £7 on link, but jumps hugely once in basket

It was active till a few minutes ago. You've just missed it. Amazon, when they do price rises, can show the "old" price for a few minutes then add the higher price in basket. It'll change for good shortly, if it hasn't already.

Worth bookmarking.

The "In Stock" date has also shifted from the 10th to the 14th, so maybe a certain allocation of stock was at the lower price, not sure how Amazon's algorithms work.39282179-Me37k.jpg

Thanks I ordered this one and wouldn't have seen it without your link. Hopefully it'll arrive in time for Christmas as my previous orders with them have arrive way earlier than their scheduled date. Thanks again

Beware:
After the item is delivered 2 hours later charged an extra £3.75 you will be charged (Import fee deposit) typically 20%.
2 weeks ago I was shoot down in flames and told I was talk a lot rubbish on the last deal. So as you can see. from my invoice.
And yes Amazon Global have taken Import fee deposit yesterday from my card.

Or maybe Amazon just picked only on me. So if anyone else got sting for the extra 20% it woulb good to know.
Technically what say louiselouise is true as you can see from:
Tax and customs for goods sent from abroad - gov.uk/goo…uty

VAT
You pay VAT on goods sent from non-European Union (EU) countries and EU special territories (eg the Canary Islands) if they’re:

  • gifts worth more than £39
  • other goods worth more than £15
  • alcohol, tobacco products and fragrances (eg perfume, eau de toilette and cologne) of any value

I'm not seeing extra charges so far? Do you see the £11.52 - £7.77 = £3.75 transaction in your bank account?

I've ordered three, Macintosh, Midsummer's Night (not received yet) and Home Sweet Home (four, including tonight's order).

In my (bank) transactions, you can narrow down the Amazon US orders as "AMZN MKTP UK" and comes up as Business Type: "Book Stores". Actually, scrap that, as it comes up on other transactions here in the UK.

£7.69 for this candle is currently in pending, nothing else attached to this purchase, yet (though, you did say *after* delivery).

I'll use yesterday's delivery as an example - Yankee Candle Macintosh.

Ordered 27th, on the 29th I got £8.76 deducted from the bank.

Weirdly the invoice now says this (£12.14/Total £8.76), but I'm pretty sure it said Total £8.76 top and bottom of my invoice originally.
39282380-DhJkj.jpg£12.14-£8.76 = £3.38. No debits of £3.38 on my bank account.

Home Sweet Home (also received in the last week) also has this amended invoice, but no charges for the £3.75 difference?39282380-NKp5Z.jpgFor reference, re my Honey Clementine order made just over an hour ago, the invoice looks like this:39282380-VWzog.jpgMaybe Amazon US update them for some weird tax/accounting reasons?

I've looked through every Amazon US Yankee thread on HUKD, to see if anyone's getting additional rogue charges, and nobody's saying a thing
Ordered thanks

I've checked both the orders I've received so far, and nothing weird has occurred that I can see. If I was going to accuse Amazon of taking money without my consent on a forum, I'd need to be 100% certain it was happening.

I suppose bandying about words like "illegal" is a bit lame and scaremonger-y, but surely they add all fees at Checkout? There's no mention of additional fees being debited on receipt of delivery.
39282579.jpg39282579.jpgTL;DR: The Import Fees Deposit (at Checkout) is an estimate (and should only apply on £15+ orders).

Also note, "For items sold by...LLC (Amazon US), you won't be charged any additional fees if the actual Import Fees exceed the Import Fees Deposit amount we estimated."

If it's a purchase under £15 there's no further charges due, I don't see any on my account.
This arrived today. Lovely scent!

I ordered mine just before I posted on here - mine isn't here yet - no due date given. Sister ordered after me and hers says "Due Friday". Glad you like it!

Edit Wednesday 18th: Turns out my sister got hers on Monday (16th) - mine now says "Arriving Tuesday"
Edited by: "louiselouise" 18th Dec 2019
Mines is due by Friday
Mine arrived yesterday - my sister got hers five days earlier. Strange but at least it's here. Haven't lit it yet - I'm using a Lilly Lane candle - bought from the much-missed Watt Brothers (those Lilly Lane candles seem bad for tunnelling, even though they smell great, bah).
