Luxor is not the greatest hotel in any respects - a bit run down, pay £100 more, and get a better hotel!

I would have to disagree, I think the luxor is a good hotel. I was there for christmas and they upgraded us for free as it was my partners birthday. Great customer service.

I don't understand why the Luxor always gets bad reviews. I have stayed there the last 3 years and will be going back for a 4th

All of the communal areas have just been refurbished and the Luxor has one of the biggest pool areas in the strip and it's never as crowded as all other hotels pools. Plus because of the shape of the hotel being a pyramid the pool never gets any shade

Don't let the location on the strip put you off as everyone makes out it further away than it actually is.

And why stay in a normal building when you can stay in a pyramid!

Fantastic deal, have stayed in the Luxor several times and have always found it to be a great hotel

In no way shape or form is it run down, its not as glitzy as say Caesar's palace, bellagio, Wynn or the Venetian but its a cracking hotel never the less

Fantastic deal

Resort fees included for Thomas Cook guests

Luxor is a shack of a hotel compare to the rest of the strip. Yes you get what you pay for and if you want just somewhere to sleep shower and change then you can get cheaper hotels.

Anyone who has ever stayed at the Venetian, Bellagio, or Wynn knows that the Luxor is a sub standard place to stay. And if you shop about like said above you can get a much better hotel than the Luxor.

Cold from me I'm afraid. And the flights with Thomas cook will be a shocker

When did luxor become the "world famous luxor?"

Also this has been mentioned before but Luxor isnt really a 4 star, especially in Vegas. Its a nice 3 star hotel on the strip.

Stayed at the Luxor on our honeymoon, really disappointed with the hotel and the service, particularly having spent a week in LA beforehand where the staff were brilliant. Gone back to Vegas many times, but never near the Luxor again. It's a better budget hotel than the likes of Circus Circus, but it's not as great as it thinks it is.

I only ever hear bad things about Vegas trips these days. It puts me off. I have wanted to visit for many years just to see this crazy place in the desert. However everyone that goes I talk to when they come back and say it's a dump, it's pretty depressing and horrible, especially in the cold light of day if you wander just slightly off the strip.

So. Who has been and genuinely enjoyed themselves that didn't win the jackpots?

Have to agree, much nicer hotels on the strip to be staying in. Not the worst by any stretch and perfectly acceptable but not even close to some of the others.

Of course if you compare it to hotels costing 2-3 times the price, it's not going to be as good, but compare it to NYNY, Excalibur, MGM, Flamingo, Ballys etc, which are all the same/slighlty higher price point, it's easily as good. And remember it has been refurbished within the last few years.

Not sure why the Luxor gets such bad ratings. I stated there last August And got upgraded to a tower room FOC,there was absolutely nothing wrong with the room.

From what I have been told by other friends who have been to Vegas the pool at the Luxor is much better than most other pools. As for location it is at one end of the strip but it's not far to the centre of the strip.

I'd totally recommend it! I've been with my partner 5 times in the last 6 years, and we both love it. We've stayed in Luxor, Excalibur, NYNY, MGM Grand, all of which were fine. It's cheesy as it could be, but that's how it's meant to be.

If you can't have fun in Las Vegas, you must be dead already.

Looove Vegas. Been twice with Friends, stayed at The Flamingo last time which is a cheap hotel centre strip. You don't have to stay in an expensive place to have fun.

We visited Dick's Last Resort restaurant which was hilarious, ate at The Cheesecake Factory at Caesar's Palace, flew over the Grand Canyon, had a night trip by helicopter over the strip, saw a few shows, played beer pong at O'Sheas (sadly gone now). It's great just people watching. Look forward to going for another visit ... great fun !

Doesn't sound good to me, firstly Luxor is an awful hotel, stayed thee a few years ago, it's one step up from a motel in downtown. Pay more and stay the other end of the strip. Secondly the price seems high to me, I went a few months ago, stayed at TI for a week, booking flight through virgin and hotel, through trivago and was cheaper than this for a hotel 3x better.

Why didn't you share your fantastic deal with everyone else ?

I had a good look around the Luxor at the end of last year, it was tired, run down and worst of all dirty.

I wouldn't consider staying there after our visit.

we stayed at the bellagio - really nice and very central. Partying at the hyde has got to be the highlight for me.

I have heard the Aria next door is nice too.

I'm not sure if I stayed in the same Luxor on the strip as you guys. It seemed nice enough to me after the recent refurbishment travelagentcentral.com/usa…ned

Some very amusing posts here with people complaining that the Luxor isn't as classy/amazing as some of the other resorts...

Well... DURR!!!

Lets summarise - This website is about posting deals. This deal is for an average hotel on the strip in Las Vegas, for 7 nights, including flights, at an incredible price. This is an AMAZING deal!

If you can afford to not use the deal and stay in Alea's or the Bellagio, then fantastic, but that doesn't mean this is not a good deal!!!

I've been to Vegas about 15 times now and stayed in most casinos.. Luxor is by far not the worst, but of course it's not as luxurious as some of the higher priced casinos. My advice, take the deal - You should spend as little time as possible in the room, and spend as much time as possible going to see all the other casinos and staying in the pool (something Luxor does do better than most other hotels!!!)

Enjoy!!

The Tramulators in the Luxor made me feel sick X) I've been to Vegas 3 times and stayed at the Luxor on the first visit, it was a bit out of the way and a trek to get to the main bit of the strip, although there is the hop bus now which makes it a lot cheaper getting up and down the strip compared to the monorail, which is expensive and a long walk through the casinos. We most enjoyed the Flamingo, strip view room (they upgraded us for free) so we got to watch the Bellagio fountains from our bed Also stayed at the Imperial Palace but we don't talk about that oO I would personally look for a mid strip casino over the Luxor though.

sounds a great price , the link doesn't seem to work for me any more , I was looking for flights only leaving the same date but for 5 nights

managed to get it to work now , its cheaper to go for 7 days then 5 , like almost £1000 cheaper to stay longer

good price thanks for posting

sure the Luxor isn't the best of hotels or in the best of the locations , but for the price its a great deal , from the link that the op posted you can of course pick other hotels which work out more expensive

my tip is start playing the Facebook game MyVegas to earn some great rewards , I got 4 tickets to see O last year for around £100 GBP total by using LP points form that game , also had a few buffets ect

Wouldnt stay in any of those hotels to be honest with you...but you get what you pay for...

To be honest, 12 of us going over there for my 40th this year and have hired a 9 bedroom house that can sleep 28 and its only costing 500 each for a week...now THAT is cheap
