***LAST CHANCE EXPIRES 19 OCTOBER*** Free £12 from Tesco Xmas Savers - deposit £200, get back £212 in 2 weeks
£200Tesco Deals
This is your last chance to get a free £12 from the Tesco Xmas Savers scheme. Basically you enrol by logging onto your online Tesco a/c - go to Vouchers and follow your nose, switch on Xmas Savers option. Then go to Tesco, ask to deposit £200 into your Xmas Savers a/c, they'll scan your Clubcard and you pay £200. In 2 weeks' time you get the November statement which will include your £200 Xmas Savers voucher + £12 bonus, has to be spent in Tesco but you can buy gift vouchers eg Amazon if you don't want £200 of groceries.
So that's £12 profit in 2 weeks = effective interest rate of (12/200) x 26 weeks = 156% annualised.
Deadline close of business 19 October (according to Customer Services).

nope - you get the normal vouchers same as usual, to spend as you see fit
yes - the till treats this as a groceries purchase, so you would get clubcard points on top
You only get the option to convert your points on the website to saver rather than vouchers.... how do you 'pay in £200'?
you go to any store and ask to pay in money to your Xmas Saver's a/c, they'll scan your clubcard then you pay them money
You have to spend all at Tesco.
As I always shopping with Tesco for grocery, so I opt in for my yearly Christmas shopping. But I stop doing top up last year after Tesco change the rewards.
Thanks to OP remind me, I might just do a lower price top up as Tesco used to send me discount voucher but now completely stopped. A bit save better then nothing.
Thanks Voltix
As OP states, could use the vouchers to buy gift cards
1) the money you buy for the voucher could be use as face value like money ( or in old way: in-shop Christmas stamps) to do shopping with Tesco
2) as OP states you could use at Tesco instore for grocery or use it (face value) on Tesco direct OR use it for in-store buy Gift cards eg Amazon GV, TK Maxx GV etc (although must double check those Gift card company terms, some last longer (eg 2 years) some very short.
(not sure about buying gift card on Tesco gift card website, I think it works for e-GV but physical card they charge shipping cost)
3) the money top up( face value) voucher could not use like normal club card points to get the club card boost (x 4 or x 3 offer).
4) a top up is for this special Christmas bonus, so it is different with those already on your club card account. One must do a money pay-in (top up) for this bonus.
5) also one must have to opt in for Christmas saver before they top up to get this bonus
6) deadline of top up (thanks to OP) is tomorrow 17.10.17
7) if you miss this year, you could just opt in any time (before the next year deadline) to get this scheme but during the year after you opt in, you would not receive the normal club card voucher send out, it would save under your account and send it out with your Christmas bonus at the end of the year.
also if one choice opt out, the terms states: If you opt out of the scheme you will no longer be able to top-up your Clubcard account.
* I have 2 club cards (under one account) for my households (different member) so I use one to get seasonal club card voucher and another one just for this scheme plus randomly small grocery shopping.
Do check this Tesco page to see all the terms Christmas Savers Standard Terms and conditions

or do check your bank account or credit card for offer and all other money advice site, Christmas is coming, hope more interesting offer coming
According to T&C I won't get any club card points on the £200 I'm saving in the scheme, normally get extra as I have a tesco credit card, also as I understand it, I'll be putting the £12 I have coming to me in this club card statement into the scheme, so then can't use it to get 4x off days out (so worth £48 really).
I think it would be good for people who aren't expecting much of a voucher in this statement?
no particular rush - but yes, I will be cancelling it in short order
no
No brainer then
I think you have got this wrong
you'll still get your Clubcard vouchers as normal & can use them to get 4x days out etc
the £200 + £12 bonus was never in Clubcard vouchers - it is just money - you have to spend it @ Tesco/ Tesco Direct - it is intended to be a savings scheme so that people can put something by for Xmas spending, perhaps a few quid every month - by sending £200 today/ tomorrow you are gaming their system & getting an 'immediate' (well, 2 weeks) return of £12 profit
yes & yes (Esso excluded)
Might as well do it then
yes because look at the T&Cs - Tesco say it won't work on its partner Esso, ie it WILL work @ TFS
not sure of the denominations, probably same as vouchers ie £50 where possible
you don't have to spend it all in one go
***TODAY IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO GET THIS DEAL***
So hopefully in 2 weeks I'll get the £12 'normal' vouchers I already accrued for this statement to do the 4x days out with, plus £200 Tesco money I put in today and £12 bonus to spend in Tesco... Nice one! 😊
your rate of return would have been tiny compared to my 156% annualised
guess I won't be getting me £12 extra then
you could just give it a couple of hours then go see if you can top up in store
ah, good info
Total vouchers saved £0
Vouchers available to spend £27
In their FAQs . . I have Clubcard vouchers at home. Can I put them into the scheme? If you have any valid Clubcard vouchers, these can also be taken to the checkout and used to top-up your savings. They will be treated in the same way as a cash top-up.
don't do that! your Clubcard vouchers are worth as much as a genuine 3x face value when you buy deals, whereas you're thinking of spending them in store at face value
but yes, if you really can't think of a better use, they would be treated like cash at the till and could be used to top up Xmas Savers a/c
Thank you, I had actually just realised that when I thought about it. I believe we can just log in and select to opt in/out etc whenever we want so going to try that now!
