Based on Wes Craven's landmark 1972 exploitation flick of the same name, LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT is a brutal movie that exposes the darkest recesses of human depravity. The simple plot follows four criminals on the lam who encounter a pair of nubile female teens in a small mountain town. After murdering one and brutally raping the other and leaving her for dead, the cons seek refuge at a nearby summer house. The twist is that it's the very home inhabited by the parents of one of the victims. Upon learning that their house guests raped and tortured their 17-year-old daughter, the couple exact a revenge that arguably exceeds the excesses of the sociopathic gang.

great revenge film, very brutal, amazing price.

Showing as £8.95 now?

This film is based on The Virgin Spring by Ingmar Bergman, which is a powerful film from 1960 and also includes a graphic rape scene, whilst not as violent as this film, it's in my opinion a much better film. Bergman originally based The Virgin Spring on an ancient ballad. Another film with a similar theme is Rashomon (1950) by the great japanese directer Akira Kurosawa. Rape/revenge films soon went downhill in the 70s with I Spit on Your Grave. A modern one that is excellent but very brutal and powerful is Irreversible, cleverly directed and at times sickening to watch.

the description gives waaaaay too much away about the movie!

I actually had to look away at a couple of the sences in this film the rape part made me feel sick, excellent movie though!

EBT
