Great last minute deal for a family of four flying 23/08 for 7 night bed and breakfast at Hotel Theo a TUI small and friendly hotel in Corfu. £234 pp only £936 family of 4. Two twin rooms with balcony included in price. Includes luggage and transfers. Hotel gets good reviews on trip advisor. Flying from Aberdeen so makes a change from London airports.
Details below
This family-run hotel delivers plenty of rural charm, along with hearty Greek cooking.

This hotel is on a quiet country road, about a 10-minute walk from a village where you’ll find shops, bars and restaurants. And it’s about the same distance to the sand-and-shingle Blue Flag beach.

The pool is at the back of the hotel, giving it a secluded feel. It’s got great views over the nearby hills. There’s a restaurant serving home-cooked Greek specialities, while the bar’s known for its whiskies.

Looks great.
Went here for 3days last weekend on a very last minute cheap getaway. A car hire is a must but the roads and driving are awful.
The food is good and cheap, in fact most things are cheap.
The island is very poor and the rubbish situation is a joke, mountains of it stacked up on the roadside.
Still, it’s hot and cheap and has a lovely coastline.

Sorry, no. I was talking about the island in general, stayed in a villa near Roda on the North coast.
Perhaps the description should be changed to read ENGLISH school holidays. The Aberdeenshire schools go back on 21 August and the rest of Scotland around the same date.
Scottish schools are back then

Anyone who doesn’t mind travelling or lives near the Scottish border could benefit. It would be no different to when people travel to London as they can get cheap deals. I’m from Newcastle and would travel to Scotland to travel like I have in the past
Looked at this purely because it said Aberdeen (Aiberdeen *International* Airport!).

Not school hols, so misleading title, which OP or mod should edit.

But it is school holidays

Does that mean it would be OK if someone posts a deal from an English airport for the first two weeks in July, and says "school holidays"?

Have you flown from there recently? What a transformation! Security actually looks like other airports now.

Well yes because it hotukdeals not just English deals or Scottish deals or Irish deals. Is it ok for someone to post a deal based in Wales when the majority of people aren’t based in Wales. Or are Scottish airports specifically only for use of people who reside in Scotland?
I went to Sidari in Corfu a few years ago and loved the whole Island - especially Corfu town. But am worried by this "the first 40m from beach is a hill, followed by a steady incline for the remainder" - the bloody hills to and from the beach in a lot of coastal towns are very very steep.

Also "150 minutes from CORFU AIRPORT (by Coach)" is a long way, 2.5 hours transfer time.

Can't see how it is 150 min transfer time to St. George North as it is max 1 hour by car unless the coach stops on route every 5 mins.

Why would you say the driving is awful? I have driven in Corfu loads of times and actually enjoy it. Ok the roads aren't as smooth as ours, and some steep hills / bends. But that's part of the fun. You see some amazing views on the drives.

Corfu town is beautiful. I feel that sidari has become a bit too over touristy / 'brit abroad'. The town has done a great job to keep its original charm (probably because it still has an awful lot of locals living / working there)
There are some beautiful beaches over on the west of the island if you go back that are a lot more relaxed than the north of the island

I agree, roads are awful surface wise but yes, the views up the mountains are brilliant. It’s just when you enter the small towns with really narrow streets the locals just come bombing down towards you and expect you to stop all the time. Then when you do pull over almost in the hedge they never acknowledge you, a bit rude. This happened for 3 days straight but we still had fun. The little Corsa we hired didn’t have much pull up those steep hills!

Airport to Roda on the North took us 1:10 at 5am. The roads are bad. I can see how a coach could take double that especially with stops. And it’s only about 30km!
Why has the description now been edited to remove "school holidays"?
If anyone's interested, it's still £234 p.p. based on just 2 people in a twin room (B&B) with balcony (£468 total). Just had a quick look
Heat, OP!

I guess because you complained as I didn’t remove it

I found the driving (and locals in cars) a lot more pleasurable than those over here. At least you don't have idiots in BMW's cutting you up on the motorway every 5 mins!
I've added heat as it is a good price for flights in the summer holidays - although the price should really include the average cost of return flights to Aberdeen from other UK airports, and we need to factor that in

If you mean complained to the mod team, you are mistaken. The only comments I have made are in this thread.
