The problem with these cheap flights to the popular Caribbean destinations are that bog standard 2-3 star accommodation costs of fortune and then trying to book a top hotel like sandals or similar is astronomical.
That's why it always works out better getting a package holiday to the Caribbean.

Not necessarily, few years ago I booked seperately to Aruba, was on the same TUI flight as the people at the hotel but saved a couple of hundred quid a person, just had to hop in a taxi from the airport rather than the Thomson transport.

I love Aruba .
But it's not hugely popular compared to Barbados, St Lucia and Antigua so you can grab some decent offers.
November to March is high season in the Caribbean. That's when hotels cost more .
I prefer cruising the Caribbean as it's the best of both worlds .
Seeing around 10 islands , and having different beaches each day and unreal food on the ship .
I can recomend staying at Serenity, at coconut bay.
