Why is this cold?

Three main reasons would be:

1) People upset with the leaks
2) People that don't like digital
3) People that think £46.70 isn't a good price

This was £45 in Curry's as a physical copy over the weekend, and is around £47.85 for physical even now. Personally I'd choose physical every time at these prices.

Edit: Curry's deal might even still be live

Tough crowd
When you get half way through the game and it all goes wrong you can trade in your physical rather than be stuck with a download game you hate..... :-)

Normally yes but there are a small selection of developers who dont let us down, dont release unfinished games, and who's whole output has been top quality. In those circumstances I'm willing to preorder.

It's going to be great. Last Of Us was a superior experience to any other story centric single player game when it came out and this is going to be the same.

Naughty Dog are obviously very confident by giving the game to review sites this early and the review embargo a week before it's release.

There's no comparison to between physical and digital.

If you want physical copy, then this isn't for you.

If you want digital this is a great price considering you would have to otherwise fork out £55 on PSN.

People upset with leaks? Why is that the games fault, it's still going to be a great game and it's about the journey. I fully expect this to be a 25 hour campaign and a briliant experience throughout.

They asked for reasons why it is cold, and I provided the reasons as I see them...

There is a comparison between digital and physical as it is the same product. The problem here is you are paying a premium to go digital.

They are upset with the leaks *because* they think it will be a bad game from what they have seen/heard.

Yeah, I was making the counter-points to that. I know they aren't neccesarily your opinions.

Crazy to shun a game because of a few leaks, it looks incredible and knowing a few plot points is a drop in the water in a 25 hour or so campaign.

I do still disagree about comparing to physical copy. The deal is a direct comparison between the price on PSN and potential savings by purchasing wallets topup. The fact that digital games on psn are priced higher than physical copies doesn't make this deal cold.

If you did want to compare with physical copies, this price brings it below the vast majority of outlets who are selling the physical copy.

However, this deal is for those who want to buy digitally and it's the best price it can be had on the UK PSN.

Comment regarding the need to pre order digitally. Ie unnecessary

Again unnecessary before Friday as you can get a feel of the game with reviews then pre order with an entire week left to download for those with rubbish net.

Well that isn't true. Look at the aggregate sites for both user and critic scores for games, dont think its even top ten material.

Not for me and many of the people who are prepared to preorder this game in particular. I am happy with how ND develop games, how Sony releases ND's games, ND track history and excellence in their craft. All these factors give me the confidence to not require a 3rd party professional opinion of the game ahead of launch.

Like I said, normally you're 100% right but there are always exceptions and ND's games, from a technical and competency standpoint, is one of them. All that leaves is whether I'd enjoy the gameplay and like a music fan who buys a favourite band's new album, I've preordered TLoU2 fully anticipating to love it like every other time.

So you downgraded it from the best to one of the best

I never said it was the best, I said "Last Of Us was a superior experience to any other story centric single player game when it came out and this is going to be the same". It's obviously subjective. If a game is 80 on metacritic, that's still great, and someone could subjectively think that it's the best game they've ever played.

The best, or one of the best, what does it matter. ND games are brilliant, and if TLOU 2 gets 7/10 average on metacritic I will still play it and experience it for myself.

TLOU 2 will definitely receive thousands of Zeros from people offended by the perceived politics of the game.

I firmly hope it’s a good game, I worry about them spoiling the characters from the last game in an attempt to make things edgy but hopefully that worry is for nothing. I’ll get this on or near release and give it a fair shout. My point was just critics are not always the best judge

Same here, I'm hoping it's great, and the reviews are encouraging.
The critics are generally the best gauge of overall quality of a game, but no substitute for your own opinion. I've been bored or underwhelmed by plenty of 90+ games and enjoyed many under 70s.

But critic scores are still better than Metacritic voting which is ruined by people with anti-microtransaction/ anti-political views putting Zeros and defensive fans putting 10s- neither are objective or useful.
