Nice beer deal for the weekend bazr.

Voted hot

If you mean Magners, that's a bit of a steal IMHO. Voted hot.

is it bulmers or magners cheers title / descrip say both

Would imagine it's bulmers at that price. Still good, though.

It`s " Bulmers original" :-D

24 Bulmers pint bottles would cost £26 at Tesco - and that's on a special offer! Previously would have cost you £38! Hot deal!

Dare I ask if Bulmers and Magners are the same thing?

I've heard many a debate about it and I just end up saying "Look, I'll drink either!"

I can buy Bulmers for £6.50 a case in our staff shop, so £7.50 each when buying 2 cases is decent value!

Thanks for pointing that out to me. It is Bulmers.
Have added note to OP.

In reply to Gary,no there is no morrisons thread, which i tried to point out in another thread. Why have dedicated threads for Tesco and Sainsbury, but not Morrisons or Asda.Strange indeed.:?
How the hell do you do a search for them dedicated threads anyway.

i cant see them selling 24 pint bottles of magners / bulmers for £15, thats outrageous
has anyone been yet and bought any?

Bulmers = Magners.

Same company, just different product name.

In Ireland it's called Bulmers, in the UK, Magners.

In Ireland Magners name is Bulmers. When they sold to the UK they couldn't use the Bulmers name so changed it to Magners. They are not the same Company. Bulmers (uk) is owned by strongbow.....nothing to do with the deal.....a cracking one by the way:thumbsup:

not quite right... yes in Ireland a bottle of what us UK folk know as Magners is called Bulmers, but that is because there is already a Bulmers in the UK... The Bulmers here is the one that stopped Magners keeping their bulmers name in the UK, and hence is a different cider drink.

Bulmers must be rubbing their hands together with your quote above, but i find Magners a much more palitable drink - that's not to say it's better, it's just so easy to drink.

i was too slow then

agreed though, it's still a good deal!

Please can we stop posting alcohol deals before the weekend!

Since I have discovered HUKD I have been sucked in to various booze related deals which have resulted in several lost days & nights.

Happy days (according to the photos)!

Keep up the good work OPs :P

Not so, there are actually three products:

Irish Bulmers
Magners
English Bulmers

The first two are the same product, if you buy a Bulmers in Ireland then it is in fact the same as what is in a bottle of Magners here.

If you buy a Bulmers outside of Ireland then it is in fact a completely different drink and, in my opinion, much nicer.

English Bulmers is made by HP Bulmer who also produce Stronbow, Scrumpy Jack, Woodpecker and a few other cider brands.

Just had to go too two morrisons. Me and 4 lads from work

1st one only had 5 cases of bulmers left, was told when its gone its gone.

We bought 4.

Then went to an other branch close buy and bought the last 8. Again, its gone its gone.

Works out about 61p a bottle.

They had another offer on.

4 bottles for a fiver, which I thought was good last week, as it was £1.68 a bottle for 1 !!!

Now I need to find cheap ice for 4:30. . . .

just got back after buying two cases of bulmers.

still half a pallet left at morrisons halifax store.

i'm off back tomorrow to get some more if there is any left.:-D

voted hot.

Why Cant They Have On Line Delivery Sigh

Bulmers (UK) tastes rotten - one of the worst ciders available in my opinion - they cleverly put it in a bottle that looks similar to Magners and make out that it's a "premium" cider, but I'd rather drink cheapo Strongbow or Blackthorn before I'd drink Bulmers. Magners is, of course, the daddy.

Magners and Bulmers are both expensive marketing gimmicks to fool highly image-conscious people into drinking cider. Magners will die because it is based on ripping people off. Bulmer's will just undercut as they are essentially the same product.

Real men drink beer!

Ask a seasoned cider drinker and they'll tell you that Bulmers and Magners are not "essentially the same product"! You can tell the difference between a Magners in a bottle and a poured pint of Strongbow. Image conscious? Is that why you want to me a "real man" and drink beer?

H P Bulmer Ltd are not owned by Strongbow, it is one of their cider brands.

Magners Original Irish Cider and Bulmers Original Vintage Cider are bottled by Bulmers Ltd of Clonmel, Ireland who are not connected with HP Bulmer Ltd.

These brands are sold outside the Republic of Ireland under the name Magners Original Irish Cider.

Clear ?:?

I wouldn't drink real ale but the man's right, Bulmers/Magners are about selling a product seen as an old person's/underage drinkers' choice as a 'cool' and 'hip' product

Bulmers is nowhere close to Magners in taste. But wow what a great deal!

Ridiculously hot deal, 10 cases sitting in the car. A few left at Notts Morrisons

Who really cares about the image of Cider though!!
Let's be honest Bottled Beer just does not taste the same as Draught, but bottled Cider is just loverly.
Prefer Magners myself but this will do fine for the price.

Right. A definitive answer re Bulmers in the UK
Bulmers is one of the brands owned by Scottish and Newcastle, along with Fosters, Kronenbourg, John Smiths, Strongbow and Newcastle Brown Ale.
Bulmers UK has nothing whatsoever to do with Magners, whose 'market share' Bulmers is aimed at, which is why the bottles look the same.
Most Bulmers is bottled at the brewery in Hereford, but some is bottled here at Tadcaster Brewery, where I work. In fact, we are bottling it today, some 50,000 bottles per hour!!!
Anyway, £15 for 24 pint bottles is cheap, so get some bought and keep me in a job :).

Also includes

Stella - 30 x 285ml

Cheers for the tip (even though my local tried to charge me £20)

Got an Asda? If so, take the ad from the newspaper (it appeared in all the redtops today) and get them to do an 'ad match'. I have confirmed with Asda Head Office today that they do still ad match even though they no longer advertise it (I'm an old hand at it and have done it many times at my local Asda)
