Oops, have changed it to the correct date now

Rubber tree????

OMG I used to love Monkey Island-I hope this one will live up to it's predecessor.
Fingers crossed.

You really shouldn't say £22 delivered, "Season purchase includes a collector's DVD, available at the end of the season for just the cost of shipping!". Their shipping costs to the UK are quite high

That said, awesome deal

Pfffft I'm not holding my breath on this one all Telltale produce is cheap episodic crap to cash in on established IP.

Bring on The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, a faithful reproduction of the original.

Agreed. I was wondering how long it would take for them to get hold of the Monkey IP
Saying that, Monkey Island 4 was pretty poor, so maybe the only was is up!

Actually Tales of Monkey Island has most of the team onboard who made the other 4 Monkey Island installments so should be faithful to the original saga and well worth a play.

coolio

I was a big fan as well. Sadly I was rubbish at controlling so used to play with my bruv at the controls and rowing over what to do next...

He still hates back seat drivers! Heheh!!!

awesome, didn't know they were bringing out a new one.

Hmmm, hardly "most of the team", and well you'd expect a few seeing as Telltale were set up by ex-LucasArts employees. However, specifically dealing with Monkey Island, there's no Ron Gilbert and no Tim Schafer. Ok so they have Dave Grossman, but he has done nothing of any note since he worked on Day of the Tentacle with Tim Schafer. The handful of others in that team from LucasArts are artists and designers from the later games (which weren't great tbh) or testers. They also have the same composer (at least the music should be faithful) and the voice actor from Curse of Monkey Island. Making the whole "Our team includes a bunch of people who worked on the original games" a pretty obvious sales pitch, as Dave Grossman is the only one with any real pedigree when it comes to writing/designing.

Besides none of this alters the fact that Telltale have a record for producing utter crap in cheap, bite-size, episodic chunks. Why do people insist on *******ising old classics for a quick buck. The re-make of the original I'm looking forward to, this new stuff however I wont be holding my breath for. Hey, I might be surprised, it may be awesome. But I history tells me it'll be raping all my fond memory's and leaving me sorely disappointed.

Now down to £16 with current exchange rate, I bought it yesterday
