Great post. All the info we need. Well done, much appreciated! Heat and Rep for you!

Yep, Sainsburys have great offers. I go there rather than Asda now. It also has fewer scumbags shopping there, so it's all good

I prefer shopping in Sainsburys too but have to admit that Asda is the best when it comes to lower shopping bills.

Mcguigan chardonnay has an exquisitely delicate nose.

Hot!

This is better than typing, I hate looking at lists can never pick out the deals, this way it's easier.

remember to check out mysupermarket.co.uk/ which compares the prices on all the products of Asda, Tesco and Sainsburys

It will be in the normal aisle for yoghurts, and not on a promotional space. Also, it will pay to get them sooner rather than later - can't say more, but just take it that I am 'in the know'...

Thanks for the rep everyone, much appreciated.

At the time I thought I was being lazy as it was easier to scan/batch upload pics than write down all the offers lol.

Any chance of a bigger scan for my 42 inch (I wish) monitor! :-D Hot!

Nice one OP

McGuigans Shiraz......... Yum!

yep - always best to shop via this site. last weeks shop was £112 from sainsburys. Same basket showed as £117 for asda, £121 from ocado and £147 from tescos. i was originally shopping at tescos but soon switched once mysupermarket showed me the same for £35 cheaper (free delivery from sainsburys too!). I hate tescos fruit & veg too as goes off very quickly compared to others :w00t:

Sainsbury's bakery have by far the best cream cakes too - and the cheapest

The bottles of pepsi are £1.56 each buy one get one free in tesco, so slightly cheaper

Great offers? I didn't see many.
Recently went to Asda and was better for offers than Sainsburys.
3 instantly come to mind...
Muller Light Yoghurts 250g for 20p...400 g of Asda chocolate for £1.
6 Large Free Range eggs £1.
I noticed Pilgrims cheese on offer at Sainsburys.
Went into my local Spar shop and got 200g for £1.

Yes, there will be a few good offers at Sainsburys, but I find Asda and Tesco better.

Thanks for this link I have never tried it before but will give it a go Rep added:thumbsup:

I've just returned from Sainsburys; I've look at my receipt and it seems I've been overcharged for some Advocados I bought. There is a clear label on each one stating 50p each, but the receipt shows I've been charged 97p each). I know it's only a £1, but it's still quite ridulucous and quite scary in fact, to think of how many other products I've been overcharged for in the past.

Does anyone know how I complain about this and also I would like to know, if they have a policy on overcharged products?

Just go back in next time with your receipt and they'll check the system for the date you we're overcharged and refund you the difference. That's what they've done for me if there's been a problem - overcharged or substandard fruit or veg. If you still have packaging that always helps.

next time, shop via mysupermarket and I think you'll be surprised at how little difference there is between the top 4 on a large basket of goods (except tescos who are the most expensive by far). Sainsburys do have far better quality own brand label stuff than the other 3 as well.

Tescos done this to me for years. I had to check every bill when through and it was always wrong in their favour.
Then had to queue @ cust services like cattle to beg refund!!!!!!!!!
REFUSE TO SHOP @ TESCOS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tescos smeshcos crap

I must admit it doesn't happen too often @ sains or believe it or not asda.
Contact CS and explain if you were charged 97p then how many others were charged the same that day.
Try asking for a refund and ask them to come to your house to exchangew as petrol and time is expensive to you as well as the 0845 number (dont weaken just insist strongly but not rudely)
. Suprising what they offer.

Pete

Followed your advise and they issued me with a refund through my nectar card.

Whenever I go on mysupermarket I always click on each aisle and look at offers first and try and work my meals around that, it doesn't seem to matter who you shop with this always seems cheapest way for me.

Yep I do the same if I'm going in store, cumbersome but worth it.

and if you have storage space, buy in bulk when long life foods go on bogof

I'm still working my way through 200 tins of napolina chopped tomatoes I bought last summer. Worked out at 24p a tin and now 97p a tin in-store :w00t: So I saved £146 alone on just my tinned tommies for 2 years :w00t: I wont mention how many heinz baked beans I bought :oops:

My garage does look a bit like a tesco express though :-D

Most canned food will last for at least 2 years, and probably for many years after that, subject to some loss of texture and colour. 'Best Before' dates mean just that - the product will be perfectly safe to eat for a long time after. 'Use by' dates on fresh food need a bit more care, though.

Or you could follow the old-school 'if it isn't green or actually moving about on the plate it's safe to eat'! ;-)

yep, I was referring to nearly all tinned food which lasts up to 5 years. Also pasta, rice, sauce jars last yonks. In fact most things which aren't 'fresh' will last a very long time. I have a large chest freezer too which is 90% full of bogof ;-)

It beats having to remember everything when you run out as I barely ever run out of stuff lol

Agreed, Tesco is so widly overpriced compared to everyone and in my opinion ASDA is the pits, bargain basement prices, but bargain basement goods and service. I would never step foot in an ASDA for my grocery shopping again, or anything else if I could help it.
Sainsbury's is by far the best out of the 3 good list

I was chatting to someone the other day (working in a small grocer's shop!) who swears she saved at least £20 pw by switching from Tesco to Morrisons. She didn't like ASDA, either. The Morrisons here isn't at all bad. Not such a good range of fresh stuff as Sainsbury or Waitrose though. Waitrose is by far the best all round, but it's probably around 15% dearer overall.

hey, v good post, looks like a lot of time & trouble taken also, thanks

Quite surprised at swapping from Tesco to Morrisons saving your friend money tbh, we are currently considering swapping from Morrisons to Tesco as our shopping seems to have been expensive the last few weeks.
