Ohh wow! If you can get 10% student discount too this is an incredible deal. I assumed it wouldn't work but didn't think to message the Microsoft Support using the live chat.
It doesn’t knock anymore money off, even after signing in as as member eligible for discount it does not reduce lower than £825. However the other models are reduced

This is not good as tablet. Although it has a touch screen, the controls are quite clunky.
I would say that it is a good bet, it has a wealth of Windows Apps and the coming Android subsystem (that will allow you to run the majority of Android Apps).
NB It is being rolled out in the USA before it comes here ...
