Thanks for posting Looks pretty good!

good deal

bought the whole lot. thanks for the deal.

get six games including world of goo for 1p (or however much you wish/think the developers should get) here:

good deal

Not bad - I'm going to get Necrovision and World of Goo for a penny each. But a penny's all I'd gamble at the moment, not least because of the following terms and conditions..

Following acceptance GMGL may cancel a sale and not supply the Game if it is reasonable to do so and may change or discontinue the availability of any Games at any time at its sole discretion.

I'd also use PayPal since it doesn't give them direct access to your credit card. The help section that is mentioned in the terms and credits is also completely empty.

EDIT: Actually, looks like they don't take PayPal despite it getting a mention in the T+C. I'm reluctant to give my credit card details to the company.

has anyone been able to verify that the games have been activated?
I bought Defcon off of there yesterday and it wouldn't register, no matter how many times i tried - i emailed the customer support and they replied saying there was a problem with the game and they took it off the system. I got refunded my 'penny' and was told it would be fixed within a few weeks...

I guess they are having teething issues being new and all... will give it a miss for now and wait until paypal is up and running

good deal

A bit annoying that you can only buy games 1 at a time - so no putting several into a basket and paying once. Also not sure on what your longer term rights to access are, whether you can download more than once.

But then considering I've just paid 3p for 3 games, I can't say I'd be devastated if it turns out to be a one time only thing

This is exactly the sort of thing Steam needs to stay competitive in the long term. So many people have games in Steam they don't want anymore, and there needs to be a way to get rid of them. Even if Steam gave coupons for "trading" in games that people don't want anymore based on a value scaling system

I have managed to download and play Uplink and it seems to work fine.

That's the only one I've tested so far, but it started up and played just like the disk version.

EDIT - I have now also downloaded and briefly played Darwinia - downloaded quickly and installed fine.

ahh well must have just been that one game - hopefully it will all be sorted out soon enough - cheers for checking!

bought necrovision

downloaded fast enough
took a while to install after downloading
works fine

the 'capsule' client is like a poor mans steam, requiring you to log in each time you run it (username and password)

oh and trine has 2 prices on the frontpage, £3.99 and £4.99

It could be an OK service, but has a long way to go to catch up with steam.

I think it will be dead in 3 months, with your games dying with it. Personally I wouldnt buy anything costing more than 1p off this service.

but its for charity so best to spend a little more...i paid $5 for all the games

well bough all game except high school! but stupid steam type app keeps crashing!

downloaded world of goo

first up - game itself rocks, any walk of life should enjoy this puzzler as an idle waste of time but with a hint of competition (online leaderboards are optional but you can save up unused goo to make a tower which is ranked against other users)

2nd - to download and install the game you need to run an app called 'capsule', it was fast to install and run, downloaded the game very fast (only 70megs thereabouts anyway) and perhaps most importantly does not need to be running to play the game (though game itself required internet activation code, which the capsule app provided). game itself ran happily once activated with both capsule not running and all internet access blocked (no leaderboards obviously)

i am very leery of both online services and such digital distribution sites but i cannot find fault in this opening deal to get some good games for cheap - will be downloading a few others on the offer after this but would still re-up the wolfire.com/humble link as a very worthwhile extra

first reply didn't seem to go through, sorry for any repost.

game is offered via a download app called 'capsule', it's download and install was fast, as was the game install plus it closes when you tell it to and you don't need to run it to play games (at least world of goo).

world of goo itself comes highly recommended for any puzzler fans as a great waste of time. slightly annoyingly you need to process each game you buy as a separate transaction with a download, plus game itself needed internet access to activate (easy process, capsule game client activates when installed) , seems though you can run games without capsule app you need to contact customer services should you ever need to re-download game

bought necrovision, game will not download through capsule with win7 atm coughing up errors

I have many steam games, I dont know how long this will last.. so i'll stay with Steam for now

Heat added

the capsule program wont open
it says there is a problem with my network
its not being blocked by firewalls of anything

anyone else had these issues?

Downloaded and played Uplink without any issues at the weekend.

necrovision worked fine for me on my Win7 Dell studio 15 (from a deal here two months ago!) - did you update your direct x drivers? there is a link when you are installing the game from capsule. Try uninstalling and reinsttalling otherwise.

Probably DRM-protected. I'd rather not.

I've had world of goo on pc before and it's great.
I downloaded it a while ago when the developers did a 'pay what you want' offer, but I lost the game following a hard drive crash (and back-up crash at the same time!)

Nice to have it again for 1p. I might get the others too apart from the High School one.
I don't often play PC games.

Darwinia is a great game by the way, definitely worth 1p! I got it when it was on a steam deal for a few quid, money well spent.

Thanks bought Necrovision looks decent.

Great deal! Cousin got them for me!

Im abit reluctant to give them my card details; but Necrovision looks good

Does anyone know how long these deals will last for?

It's like Steam, with it's DRM but for 1p, surely you can't say no?

any recommended gaming mouses for those of us new to PC gaming?

any recommended gaming mouses for those of us new to PC gaming?

I use the Logitech MX518 and that has served me very well in the time ive had it. A good cheaper alternative to a G5 or a Razor mouse.

Darwinia for 1 penny? How can you lose? :-D installed and it works fine.

The trade in value for the 1p games has just gone up to £3 each (The games are no longer 1p to buy). Anyone who bought a few and fancies a more expensive game from their catalogue can now try out the trade function, which tbh is the main attraction of the service anyway!

I agree on the MX518 as well, great mouse for gaming!

bah brass beat me to it, no more penny games but the trade value has gone up to £3 plus they now offer 14days
money back guarantee.

games do have DRM btw, you don't need capsule running to play but apparently they get blocked if you don't log into capsule for 3 days, but after slight installing problems on one everything works fine for me.

use a mx518 here too, not hard to pick one up for under £20 and it's the business.
