I don’t mind if this goes hot or cold. Really I want to make a decision on whether to buy the pictured sofa. I love the look of it and the measurements are ideal for me but I can’t find a single positive review anywhere. There are a lot of upset Laura Ashley customers - but maybe they paid a lot more. Please, someone tell me something good about Laura Ashley... Preferably someone who’s bought a sofa from them recently.

I’ve been keeping an eye on this sofa since Schwifty posted the deal which reached 328% heat: hotukdeals.com/dea…616

I was looking at that too. Looks nice. Slight bit deeper measurement than I’d like.

At a blind guess I’d assume Laura Ashley would be much much higher quality than Argos... but honestly, I don’t know.

I thought they already had!
Firstly Laura Ashley are like DFS everything is permanently on sale. Secondly their quality is atrocious, cheap rat made in Poland. Very British!!

I spent £5k on bedroom furniture with them, never again , absolutely shocking

Trust me, they're not, they are on par.....they used to be good, now everything manufactured in Poland.

We bought bedroom furniture in the xmas sale. 60% off, 10% off extra for a first time purchase and even some Quidco. The furniture is excellent, solid wood and beautifully finished. Cost a lot even after the discounts but if it’s quality you’re asking about, look no further.

Which range did you purchase from? I’ve had the total opposite experience.

You are really comparing Laura Ashley to Argos???

I have always bought great quality items from LA with no issues. Went round DFS, SCS and some other sofa place last weekend... bought from LA again. The quality stood out!

Not sure of the name but was their antique cream coloured bedroom furniture and bed. Paint chipping off within a few weeks, bed turned up with fittings that didn't match due to poor manufacturing.

When I complained refused to change, sent a guy round who filled in crack and painted it, I'm not joking, that is all they offered.

There is a reason they are permanently on sale now.....am sure some of their products are ok, but even a visit to local showroom highlights the downturn in quality from past, they used to make quality furniture.

Yes I am, their designs may look nicer on the surface BUT they use on par wity DFS / Argos etc materials and workmanship, in fact I've seen better quality at IKEA.

Buy something tomorrow it will turn up with manufactured in Poland all over every item it's shocking.

Can buy far far better quality from independent furniture manufacturers, Laura Ashley is a brand which has a reputation that is eroding faster than their cheap paint....they are no longer a quality brand, and lots of my friends all agree. They now cater for mass market, for middle class wannabees!

Got LA dining furniture about 12 years ago and it’s top quality.

Try and find a company that sells returns from LA & M&S . We got an M&S leather sofa from a company in Liverpool. Stacks cheaper and it was like brand new. Someone had returned it but maybe it didn’t fit their room or wrong colour rather than being faulty.

As others have said Laura Ashley always have sales.

Haha! I’m a middle class wannabe so I should be fine.
Bought a mattress from Laura Ashley in the sale. It was sinking so much it already had indentation of my body after 3 weeks of use, I am 7 stone 8. After sales care are useless they will not admit the mattress is faulty even with all the bad reviews on their web site. I have bought a new mattress now and will never buy furniture from Laura Ashley ever again!
Thanks for your experiences neill.martin, donslibi, brad and someotherbloke.

No doubt they’re not the company they once were but it’s good to hear from some happy customers for a change. At the end of the day this is a £864 leather sofa so my expectations would be realistic if I bought it. The last time I bought a sofa new itwas £1300 from Harvey’s ten years ago and it wasn’t long until I was unhappy with it.

And the fabric one really can’t be bad at £468 can it?

Sounds really bad. Could claim on a credit card if you needed to. We went for a lacquered finish wood range. I’ve never been keen on painted wood as stained or lacquered is easier to maintain.

Quite sad that you had to write that. Just because you had a different experience based on a different product, doesn’t mean you should be immature about it. I’m sharing my honest view.
With leather sofas you need to look at whether they are all leather- the cheaper ones will just have leather on the seat facings whilst the unseen bits are faux leather. Also cheap sofas are 'split leather' ie. the hide is cut again so it is thinner. The description should say.

Not had any recent LA furniture but used to be good quality in the past.

I'm.just joking dude, and glad you had a good experience.....I.found it extremely irritating that a brand such as Laura Ashley has moved their manufacturing to Poland to save money, and shown a quality drop in the process.

What is the point of pitching yourself as the quintessential English brand, but outsourcing your manufacturing to Europe!

I could stomach it if trash hadn't turned up on my doorstep, and the he customer service so shocking.

We have a couple of item from them and they perfectly fine and very solid quality. Only had one issue with a bookcase that the had exchange three times.
Have a sofa of theirs which is 7 years old, still looks great and hasn't sunk. We also have a 7 year old Beaumont king mattress from there, no issues.
Quality hit and miss. Customer service 100% atrocious.

I’ve got this sofa but with the sofa bed. Very happy with it. Come initially with a scuff on it that Laura Ashley replaced with no issues. Also got it when it was 60% off last October. We would recommend it
Great to hear. Thanks. Tempted by the sofa bed version too. Does it feel like you’re sitting on a sofa bed

No it doesn’t. Not one person has noticed it’s a sofa bed which is a good sign.
Ive got a rusty screwdriver reduced from £10000 down to £590 if anyones interested
I always find with sofas, if you do a quick search on Gumtree to see a picture comparison of what they will look like when they have been used a bit.

Can anyone recommend a furniture shop/manufacturer. Moving into a new house and need to furniture throughout. Have looked in dfs/scs... Seems a bit pricey. Looked online but there are so many online retailers and not keen on buying without trying. Completely bewildered!
Would never buy furniture from Laura Ashley again. Bought a fabric sofa from them which arrived with wrong fabric. Took multiple calls to arrange a replacement. When the new one arrived, the fabric on one of the cushions was different to the other. Again, multiple calls to resolve. The replacement came and fell apart after 3 years of light use.
