I have one of these but with the milk frother built onto the side. By far the nicest pod coffee maker I have tasted. Many friends have very expensive ones that grind and flash fancy lights while housed in stainless, but do not taste anywhere as good as this little beauty.
Would Defo get one with the milk mixi up thing and it heats the milk to if required.
Bought mine from B&M over a year ago, and it still makes about 6-8 coffees a day.

Thank you I've ordered one. Have looked for a reasonable prices one for ages. 😊
Find something for 5p and it’s free c&c. This is great coffee, shame it’s such an ugly machine. My nespresso machine is going strong 5 years later, but I a good price for someone getting into the coffee pod game.
Best pod expresso machine. Pods not easy to find though, Waitrose for me, but make a great tasting coffee. New better pods available crema degusto, rossa etc about £4 for 16.

It only has a 0.5L water tank?, but still, if the coffee available is to your taste, it's a CRACKER of a deal

I find that you often get the pods on offer in Home Bargains, also keep an eye on Asda & Tesco as every 6 weeks or so they will drop the price from around £4 a box to £2.50 a box or do a 2 for 1 deal, then stock up.
Do you have to use pods with this? only bought myself a moka pot recently so i got a shed load of coffee already!

Yes, it's only designed to use with Lavazza capsules.

I have a moka and this. I alternate between the two. I still feel a moka gives the ultimate coffee but this little machine is great for convenience and it is as close to how the Italians have their coffee as u can get for the money. In short, do both!
The blue model was this price for ages. It''s great machine, I use it every day and John Lewis regularly do offers on pods at £3 for 16. Better than Nespresspo and not Nestle either which is good. The small tank is a slight negative and it's more fiddly for larger cups - I remove the drip tray and it works fine. Bonus is that it's really small, requires little cleaning and the coffee tastes great. The frother is good too - much easier to clean and empty than the Nespresso Aeroccino. I have found that it frothers better with non supermarket milk. No idea why.
I got one as a gift for Xmas and it leaks water.

I have a different model Lavazza A Modo Mio and the first time I used it, it leaked. It was my fault as I had not pushed the water reservoir down hard enough. It really needed a firm pressure, so I'd double check your reservoir is connected securely.

Remember this is an espresso machine NOT a coffee machine. A shot of espresso is 25-30ml, so the 0.5L tank will make up to 20 shots of espresso. If you're wanting to make more than 20 shots at a time, you're probably going to benefit from an industrial/catering espresso machine.
If you want an espresso, you could let the machine carry on pumping water through the pod, but you'll end up with an overextracted, bitter coffee that tastes (and probably is) burnt.

I find this machine and the Lavazza pods to be the best tasting pod espresso. Espresso is the base of all the different varieties of coffees, just don't expect this machine to do anything but make great, convenient espresso.
It does long coffees as well, a handful of the pods give you a full cup so it’s about 3 average mugs with a bit of milk before tank empties.

I’ve not got the milk frother, can’t be bothered with cleaning the milk thing all the time. Stick your mug of milk in the microwave for 1 min 10 seconds, give it a 20 second whisk with teaspoon and voila you have a fairly decent latte. Not ultra frothy but minimum effort!

Good point gliders, it never crossed my mind. So, in relation (ratio of drinks per tank) it's the business
We were lucky enough to get a few of these from B&M last year when they were selling this with the frother for £19 ( anywhere else £120 ).

Great little machine, well worth £30 quid, but personally if you like lattes or any milk based coffee I would either get the frother, or wait for the combo deal.
This makes good coffee and is very easy to use.

The milk frother is complete c*rap. You might as well heat milk in the microwave.

The milk frother is brilliant. I had the modo mio from B&m unfortunately it leaked about a pint of water for every for mug of coffee made so I took it back. Considered keeping it just for the frother but couldn't justify having a broken coffee machine so I'm back to heating milk in the microwave and using a coffee plunger.

Based on what? Have you tried every pod machine to know this? Thought not
My Modo Mio is a couple of years old, this is probably cheaper that getting cleaning solutions and all the faff that goes with it. Have already got a stainless steel frother that came with mine so just replace the coffee machine
