Just bought 2 bags for £6.99 each at Newcastle Costco today
Do they sell this in ground variant, also is it better getting beans or pre ground coffee

This is great coffee, it’s all I ever buy. Though if you are lucky you can pick them up for £5 per 1kg bag in the Costco warehouse, though I’ve got to admit this is the cheapest I’ve seen it in the last 6 months. Heat added

You will always get a better cup of coffee if you use beans. As soon as the beans are ground they start to lose flavour from some of the more volatile smell/taste elements of coffee. Basically your coffee begins oxidising once it is exposed to air, but when it is a bean there is a smaller surface area for the oxidation to take place, grinding the coffee breaks it down into smaller pieces so that the flavour is released into your cup but increases the surface area so that oxidation and therefore loss of flavour is accelerated. So ground coffee loses its flavour much quicker than unground beans.

These were on discount in store last time I was there (2 weeks ago) at around £6 a bag IIRC. I bought 8 bags because they were cheapest I’ve seen there.

As for being “bland”, it’s one of the most popular coffees in Italy.
I don’t really know coffee but not a huge fan of Lavazza at all. That being said, certainly had worse coffee

Yes they do , good price but even better when it’s on offer. Just wait for the offers then stock up . As Divvy said Beans are better.
Freshness of beans also matters, so don't buy so much that it doesn't get used quickly.
Plus store open bag beans in the freezer, not the fridge where they pick up other flavours easily
