Your 3% commission on sales for an affiliate link is pretty sneaky

I got confused at first, but the stores listed Hayes, Cambridge, Basildon, Bedford, Colliers Wood , they can only do the layaway for babies r us items... all other stores excluding Bayswater, Bromley, Meadowhall & Silverburn do the layaway for all items.. I hope that helps? x

Thanks for posting cheekymadam32 but I don't see any benefit for the customer here as there's no guarantee you will get the item you reserved and (if I am reading this right) then they will cancel your order if you are late with a payment and charge you £10 for doing so

Can you do this online or just instore

The link should take you to toysrus.co.uk/inf…jsf

However it goes through an affiliate link when clicked. Wouldn't have even noticed if you hadn't written 'please follow the link provided to read more about this deal'

The current heat suggests members are finding it useful. I'd just be very careful about making payments on time. Handy for those who find it hard to budget for Christmas.

When I lived in Australia I often put Christmas/ birthday presents on layby (most shops do this, not just toysrus) so I got presents when they were on deals and paid off. I think its a great thing to do if you can't afford to pay it all up front.

I think it's very helpful thank you. I would find it impossible to pay for presents in one go and things like this can be very useful.

This post is very helpful! Ignore everyone else thanks

thank you.

How do u do it really confused! Followed the link and it's not doing anything please help!!

Great post, theres nothing in the Ts+Cs i didnt spot the first time! Only downside would be if they couldn't get the stock once u'd waited but atleast you'd get a full refund! Plus side is you can use discounts/reductions that are on now and they stay on your order. If you know toys then you have an idea of what is likely to go on offer and the top xmas ones wont any nearer to xmas! #hot

They don't cancel your policy if your late paying, they call you to make sure you still want the items and arrange a date for you to pay!

Online or instore anyone????

Can this be done online or instore only?

I was about to say, I saw this a lot in Perth when I was over there. Much better way of doing things rather than maxing out cards at Christmas time. Although you've gotta be careful which shop you do it with as anyone could just shut down over night.

not really a great idea just copying what ever major store has done in the us since heck knows when

tho if you getting a big shop your better to just go to the us and get lots of stuff and buy a shipping container slot for a discount of 40% on everything (ofc joking would have to be 5k + the brake even) since the uk also has a policy of just taking the us price and putting it a £ in front of it instead of conventing since heck knows when

Did no body ever tell you if you e got nothing nice to say just don't say anything at all??

Might not be a "deal" to you, but this isn't a site that's designed to provide deals specifically to your needs, if this can help even one person then surely it's a good find!? Give OP a break for goodness sakes!

Cartman: (sighs) Anyway Kenny, "Yellow Megaman" is only $8.95, so maybe your mom can put it on layaway and make payments in a year, or two.

Sounds good for those who need it, but I can't help thinking it would be more beneficial to save the money separately then buy the item. A lot can happen in 4 to 12 weeks in regards to toy pricing and special offers, it doesn't help Toys 'R Us is rarely the cheapest.

The scheme has been going for over a year - 'fresh' for the UK, but a regular thing across the water.
You choose your term (4-12 weeks), pay a 20% deposit then just chip away each forth week (or sooner!). You only get penalized if you don't complete on time.
You only get charged the prices of goods at the price they were on day one .i.e choose an item that's cheap on day one, then you'll only be charged that price even 12 weeks on!
All stock pretty much will be available to include as long as it's in stock on day one.
Some stores do not have 'space' to store lots of orders for up to 12 weeks, hence a limited service in some sites ....

Common in the USA, good deal but just hope TRU don't go bankrupt. Are they actually storing the toys for you or is it just an ordering system?

We done this last year for baby items when I was expecting and done it again this year for kids Xmas presents they also do a 16 weeks option too

Probably best not to choose that option as Christmas is only 14 weeks away.

If the item is currently on offer then it's worth it, especially larger items such as bikes which are difficult to hide from little ones for three months.

I'm terrible for picking up kids toys when they are on offers, I've got a loft full of them for my nine month old, there's even a Disney bike and a chalk board up there for when she turns three.

been and ordered little ones crimbo present thought they only did this on baby items. mainly using it as a storage option. staff aren't happy about it been on the Web making too much work for them bless.

Have to vote COLD. Toy R US is a complete rip off. I am always amazed how for all these years managed to stay in business for the prices they charge. I only ever venture them in sales at that is at a last resort. COLD

Thank you for this deal! really good to know that you can do this! x

thanks for letting people know this is available

I believe it's in store only! You simply go around the store and select all your items you are after. Then go to the till and tell them you want layway. You have to pay 20% of the total to secure the items and once you have selected and signed the paperwork the items are stored away in the warehouse.

In store only. You go in, put everything u want in a trolley, it gets put through till as normal and you pay 20% deposit. The items you picked up are reserved in the back for you so you are guaranteed to get them. It changed to max 24 weeks a month ago. You pay every 4 weeks but if you can't make a payment on time it's at the supervisors discretion to change the payment date, or if you can't pay as much one time.

Do you have to make each payment instore?

Been doing this for years in the states. Parents did it when I was a kid. Now that I'm here glad to see it. Try.
