This one is only £3.95 on Amazon. Doesn't mention the weight though.

If you like Baklava stay away from this one . Not very nice. Very synthetic tasting and ended up taking it back to the store
jackw3324/01/2020 06:08

This must be sold as a bundle including Colgate

And diabetes medication

Eh, less calorific than a bar of dairy milk (never mind mars etc) per 100g and you'd generally have less of it per sitting. Less saturated fat too.

These taste so good, but at the same time you feel so guilty for eating them.

Tempting as I love baklava. But I feel like it's one of those things that'll just go soggy after a while in packaging like that

My comment wasn’t even about politics... it’s just I am already fat... I need to loose weight .

Speak for yourself. I can get through a whole tray of the stuff, obvs the smaller ones from Tesco.

Can’t beat freshly baked baklava from Old Jaffa in Israel. Mamamia

I like my baklava Greek, personally
It's... effectively the same thing at this point, whoever argues over inventing it.
filo, sugar syrup, nuts.
Authentic Turkish Baklava is the best but I can't find it in anywhere in the UK. They produce some stuff in London but they are not the same. If anyone visiting Istanbul in the future, go to Karakoy Gulluoglu!!! You can thank me later.

Agree, this doesn't taste particularly special. Prefer the Lidl box, albeit at £1.99 for 200g isn't as good value.

Most Asian continental stores will have the fresh stuff. No less than tenner per kg.
Pre-packaged baklava? Yikes.
AL-halal in Bradford has them £5 For last 2 week's. Voted cold

But do they sell chicken bakes on the way out of the store?

Many of the middle eastern store ones are not fresh either 🤢🤢 Go all the way to instanbul if you want the best
Go to sweetland in London. Fresh everyday. Lovely stuff.
reminds me of when Eric Clapton walked into my bar, and I served him a strained brew with cream on top, and our ginger baker served him Layla baklava.

You'll get very good Baklava in... most of the Eastern Med. Greece/Turkey/Israel/etc all have a VERY, VERY similar dessert. Arguments about "who invented it" deliberately avoided.

Well I've tried in most middle eastern countries and Turkey does it best

These are not Turkish Baklava - they're the only ones that use syrup and use pistachio

The Middle Eastern ones don't use syrup and use every kinda but but pistachios

I don't know if they have trademarks between them but that's how it goes

Try Haringey, Green Lanes in London

Hell no!

The amount of syrup they drown them in is pointless as so overwhelming. An expired fish in that syrup would taste good!

I learnt something new, I didn't know there was a difference. I like the syrupy Turkish ones.

I assume you've been to a lot of places in Turkey and tried them?
