Here we go again.
If it’s more expensive than some people are prepared/ can afford to pay then it’s voted cold.
Same with clothing £50 for a shirt? I could get ten for that
Same with watches £3k for a watch, you can still tell the time with my £5.99 digital

Same with anything that’s not the cheapest product out there.

£79 shirt reduced by £40 - cold - put a £3 T-shirt reduced by £1 and BOOOOMMM it’s red hot.

It’s got pathetic now, it’s not about the deal/savings anymore it’s about how little people are prepared to pay for something and nothing to do with the fact that there’s a 50% saving for someone who is prepared to pay for high end goods/quality or something a bit different.

I wouldn't pay £12 for a mug or I'd be the mug.
12 quid for a mug, don't be silly. I think someone is extracting the urine.
Is it the holy grail?

No - I think there is a mistake in the posting and it's for 12 mugs. 😁
What people might not realise is that most mugs are around 200-250ml. So at 400ml you get a nice sized mug with more of your favourite beverage in it. The only real mugs here are the ones that have to refill on regular basis ;p

Any wonder when all they’re likely to get is negative responses.
I don’t see many deals and the ones I do tend to be one off reductions - no point me posting about the rucksack I got from TK Maxx yesterday - reduced from £59 to £30 as it was the only one and no doubt someone would question who’d pay £30 for a cotton rucksack when you can get one from Argos for £3.99.

The whole point of the system is that deals that are voted cold will be less visible isn't it? Just because one person doesn't think a mug is worth £15 doesn't mean it's not a good deal for those who are in the market for a fancy mug. By voting cold on a deal that is objectively a good deal for that product it means the people who would buy it will never see it.

Why not I for one, no doubt countless others, use the deals->new view/filter which displays all deals in chronological order regardless of 'heat'
Voting brought to you by the ‘I can drink out of my hands for free’ brigade.

Yeah I agree, definitely the best way to do it if you can take the time to look through everything. It doesn't change the fact that plenty of deals that are objectively "good" are made super cold by people who don't understand why someone would pay that much for the item. The deal might only get a bit of heat from people who actually value the product but it doesn't deserve to go cold just for having a niche audience.

At the end of the day, I think davek's comment explains it perfectly - it's the principle of it that irritates me more than anything else.

Having said that, I definitely won't be paying £12 for a mug
I’ve posted a few comments on how deals of 1% saving by particular regulars get steaming hot yet genuine offers of 50% on random things by random posters freeze!

Ok. I cannot be mithered going through my posts so I have noticed today both Chanchi and Mrs Switch both well known posters have hot deals on items with less than a 20% saving. Yet an unknown (to me) has posted a 48% deal and it freezes its proverbial off.
It seems WHO posts not the deal that matters.

No, it isn't who posts the deal, it's the deal item itself, the saving and the merchant.
You have obviously made you mind up so my reply is pointless.....

How can you say a 17% saving is a better deal than a 48% saving?
