That is a shame but yes being cast iron they are very heavy but also retain heat very well which makes for better cooking of some recipes. I think the new signature range has bigger handles so makes for better grip, I hope so as I have just ordered the 40cm oval casserole.

I just bought the largest one in Sainsbury half price at £35.

It's a pretty good profit margin on under a quid's worth of iron

Yes, not bad value but the ones in Sainsburys are their own make - clearly designed to look like Le Creuset - but I'd be surprised if they are the same quality.

And do you get a lifetime warranty with it like you do with Le Creuset?
