Basic would do me, just enough to get around. I've got a few Spanish trips coming up, so I'll start off with that.

I have an accent when I speak (will never sound like a Brit talking obviously) but not a strong one.

It's Italian immigrants in the US who maybe talk in that stereotypical way

Bene, grazie. Tu?
Genuine question... is there any point at all attempting to learn a new language in your mid-30s? Or is my brain now a dried up old prune?

Molto bene, grazie.

I dont suppose you know any Italian kids TV programmes I can watch to improve my Italian? I did the Linguaphone CD and found it really useful for getting into the language, but I'm lacking in my conversational Italian.

You can easily watch many Italian TV series, TV programmes and films on raiplay.it. They are not subtitled though. There should be kids stuff available to watch too. The website is in Italian of course and it's basically like your BBC iPlayer.
Sometimes it won't let you watch if your IP isn't Italian (it doesn't do that all the time) but you can just use a VPN and you need to log in with FB or Twitter and the likes.

I go on there to watch my favourite Italian soap (they upload daily episodes) and other TV series I like that I couldn't watch otherwise since I live here now.
Looks a great learning app...thanks op

I wonder if you can try claiming a refund (some cash get away with doing it this long after buying) and then download it again free. Worth a try - might get your credit back to buy something else.
