Yes you return the car, however you could ask Gateway2Lease how much it is for a 24 month lease. It could be less than £71.99/month.

another lease deal i dont get it your thowing ya money away please no more

Bargain for a brand new car and not tied in for 3 years, in a years time just get another brand new car. Would lose far more than this if you bought it new

Wish it was the business rate over 2 years

68bhp? I've got a crappy punto, Fred Flintstone gets around quicker...

Damn no good for me (size wise).

10k miles and £72 a month, that's a bargain for a new driver.

You're not though...

It's costing £1000, you buy this car new and try sell it in a years time, I bet you can't sell it for (retail - £1k).

Then a 3k bill for dents n excessive wear

Where is the catch in this, as I'm tempted as my other half is desperate for a C1

Cheap as chips .
BUT sounds nasty, clutch is terrible and it lacks power
(had one a a hire car earlier this year)

Actually the depreciation on these is about that. They hold their value rather well.

Really? Holy sh*t you really need to look at priorities lol

What happens on returning the car? Are you charged loads for little scratches and scrapes? Also a dent?
Otherwise its a excellent deal..... petrol would cost nothing- great for London

My Virgin package is a shade under £150 a month so it's way cheaper

If you bought this and kept for 12 months you'd throw more than this away in depreciation.

No matter how you look at it cars are a waste of money, however they are a necessity for most people and leasing can be a more economical way of gaining the necessary transport to get to work etc.
Agreed it's not for everyone but this is cheaper than public transport.

Don't get me wrong I would drive that lol but some people would and be happy.

Well that's something I thought I'd never hear "desperate for a C1" that's what I like to see aim high lol.

Have you never seen Planes, Trains and Automobiles? I don't remember John Candy getting charged for damage lol

My better half is just finishing a 2 year deal on a C1, it's going back on Tuesday and I for one won't be sorry to see it go. The clutch is hideous and it's head gasket went after 18,000 miles. Economical around town The deal though is cracking - I wish we had managed to find a deal for less than £100 a month. Replacing it with a Corsa

Every single person I've spoke to has regretted these deals, avoid them.

Misconception maybe? I suspect you will have to rev the daylights out of the engine...

The deal is fine it's the car that's what I'd regret, I got a Corsa 1.4 SRi for my wife from the same company for £101 worth the extra in my opinion.

I've read C1's are cheap to insure... I've had my license for over 3 years but still don't have a car. Would this be possible to buy as a first car? Or do the company tend to not accept new drivers?

Depending if you intend to do 60 in less than a week. If you drive it at a slow speed and not try to drive it like something it isn't it will be fine but for me living in the lakes it would be so frustrating.

tbh i need a 'cheap car' to run me backwards and forwards to the train station for my commute.

if you are thinking about 'bangernomics' then tax and mpg are probably the two biggest costs. if im lucky i could pick up a potentially reliable car with a years mot (ten year old accord/avensis etc) for £400 or £500 but the tax will likely be higher (say at least 200) and im exposed on running costs and servicing/problems. its a close run thing and you could be lucky or unlucky with the banger. really the lease gives you the confidence of the 'fixed' cost.

leases where the total end cost is 3 or 4k with a 'monthly cost) of 120ish are a scam but this does seem reasonably priced without being a rip off. (for a nippy little second car)

Looking at Autotrader, low mileage 12 month old C1 VTRs are advertised at £6500, so probably get it for s bit less than that.
You would need a pretty big discount off the new price to make only £1K depreciation.
