I see no reason for the cold votes. I get 15GB for £9 per month, just received an email congratulating my first year plus a 1GB bonus, all I got from O2 were bill increases and a lousy signal.

Come on Lebara... Get more 6 months deals going!
    HUKDealSeeker's avatar
Lebara is still doing 6 month promotional deals - check on MSE page - 99p for 3GB, £1.49 for 5GB, £2.99 for 12GB.

    moneysavingexpert.com/che…ly/

Sadly, 1p deals are nowhere to be seen for Lebara!

I saw this deal but didn't post it because it doesn’t apply discount at the checkout page and you have to pay full £6.99 instead of £1.99

I'm seeing the same thing too but the page did say that a discount to £1.99 is to be applied so assuming they will only take £1.99 for the first three months then £6.99 after that. Only need it for three months and if I get stiffed for the full price its not too bad.

If wifi calling is required, as mobile phone signal is weak and you have picked up a much advertised Google pixel phones on recent deals, then Lebara isn't for you as it won't work. Lebra and MSM ( who continully promote Lebara as wifi calling without a warning) have been made aware of the issue and have done nothing to resolve it.
    jnm21's avatar
I have to agree that wifi calling is not reliable on Lebara - got it on my P20 Pro, but on this Realme 9 pro plus it stubbornly refuses to show me the option - works on other networks. Good thing is limited cost to check it out & no tie in if it does not work. Thankfully it is a nice to have/curiosity for me.

I have also found tethering a strange area - Lebara & Huawei phones can have an issue - can be a matter of deleting & resetting up the APN, but nothing anyone suggests gets it working (sharing data - the devices can connect fine) on mum's P Smart. TEST TETHERING is my advice (do not wait until you need it to do so).

As mentioned in a comment, as the current deals are only for 3 months, it might not be worth the effort to double port.
I have noticed that every occasion has required a chase because certain networks, 3 is the usual, just don't get the message, and so you only realise you are missing out when you call the missing friends etc.
For those on the 1p deal that is running out, the price will leap to £6.90. Whilst a significant jump, it is potentially better to stay than try and switch to this with less data and a higher price after 3 months

Why not go for this when 1p deal comes to the end of your 6 months
    hotukdeals.com/dea…988

It is for 6 months and the offer date is till 31 March. I am thinking about 12gb plan.
  6. Northerndave's avatar
Cold as 3 month contract with 1 month notice period, whoo needs that hassle
    TristanDeCoonha's avatar
You don't need to give notice. Just jump ship as you feel. You just won't get a refund for any part of the month you have paid for

Great deal, I've been with both Lebara and I'm now with Lyca and I've found Lyca better for me and my phone (Xiaomi 10 lite 5g)🔥
    HUKDealSeeker's avatar
A note of caution for 5G iphone owners - Lyca doesn’t yet do 5G for iphone - you will only get 4G/LTE
Also for EU roaming - it is limited to max 5gb and not like Lebara where you can use all your allowances
  8. Ian_D123's avatar
I was hoping to use this in Canada/ USA to send and receive texts locally and back to the UK but it seems to me that charges apply over there with this sim. Still, will be useful for an earlier trip to Europe after which I will cancel.
    getmore4less's avatar
For US the best I have found is the 1 month 3 SIMs from Amazon usually around £10 for 10GB+ for lower data there are cheaper options.

    Hi / anyone
How easy is it to change to Lebara (new customer) from 3 ??? Keeping SAME number. Any loss of service??? With no loss of previous Whatsapp content on phone.
    Thanks (edited)

    Changing network is very easy
you just need a PAC code from old service provider and you give that to your new service provider
normally within 24hours your old number start working on your new Sim.
Text PAC to 65075 and you will get your code.

Anything on your phone wont be affected by changing service provider - your whatsapp - your contacts - your gallery - everything remains as it is.

What network do they piggy back from please?
    DopeyDunker's avatar
Vodafone. Easily the best signal I've ever had to be honest (edited)
  11. justabout72's avatar
Suppose it's cold because you can sometimes get it cheeper? Mines £1.34 for 6 months 10gb unlimited text and calls then 6.99 after. Will cancel then get another deal.
Mine was through uswitch I think (edited)
    jnm21's avatar
Yeah, a cold vote accompanied by feedback like that is useful. This was at minus 18, with no comments. Rude!
  12. steve765's avatar
The 12GB deal is cheaper overall if you compare total price over 12 months. Maybe that’s why people are voting cold? I don’t know. Prices with Lebara seem to vary from one deal to the next.

It’s as good a deal as you think it is. If ppl are still on cheaper deals at present then anything more expensive will likely get voted cold.

(12GB deal above posted previously by )

If you’re happy with the deal price and it’s cheaper than your previous deal then happy days imo…personally I haven’t got the time to keep chasing the ‘very cheapest’ deal around but sone on here likely have. (edited)

I tend to use £1/1gb as a rough guide then make a decision on how good the deal is on that basis. I don’t like paying anything in excess of £1/1gb/month personally. That’s just my thinking though.
    jnm21's avatar
I tend to use the very best ongoing Lebara rates as my yardstick...

    3GB £4.90
    5GB £4.95
    12GB £6.90
15GB £6.95 (the ONLY tariff I can't find how to change to without porting)
    21GB £7.95

Over that I generally use Talkmobile prices (£10.95 for 60GB) as Lebara has not covered that segment well as yet. I dock price if on 3 or o2 (personally won't use 3 as a main number network & reluctant on o2).

6 months deals cut to 3 months now?
    Eastldnjak's avatar
That's the annoying thing. Not worth the hassle of porting out and in for me now

    Not impressed so far.

received my sim from the 21gb uswitch deal and ran a speedtest. indoors i barely get 2mbps 4g whereas my mother who is on Voda is much faster. Mobile data is literally unusable.
    soops's avatar
Hmmm strange, my wife is on Vodafone but I’m with Lebara. We both have iPhones and our speeds are pretty much identical.
  18. Oxmind's avatar
Anyone know if an existing customer can switch to this plan?
  19. JamesB83's avatar
Cold compared to previous Lebara prices but still very competitive overall so hot

Had big issues with roaming on Lebara on a phone that had never been out of the uk.

the wap settings didn’t work when changed, I then had to use live chat who told me I had to reset ally the network settings from the reset settings on an iphone 14

seems ir defaults to 3G only and makes you send a text to get 4G and 5g activated , surely they could cover that on website or just have it activate at default

so if your using Lebara to avoid roaming costs I’d be wary of being left with no data at an eu airport
    jase.2's avatar
A day full of issues trying to roam with these guys

best I can get us 3G on an iphone 14 despite me knowing 4gb and 5g are in this area having roamed on a Vodafone in the past

drop outs multiple times per hour despite not moving - covering just disappears, phone shows no network then few mins later it comes back

lebara live chat absolutely useless, every one of them tells me something different , one even told me the apn settings on an iphone 14 are wap.Vodafone.co.uk despite texts, emails and other chat telling me it’s uk.lebara.mobi

id seriously avoid these people if your trying to roam as their support is useless

    Few questions

    1. To get most of the 3 months when would you need to cancel?

    2. Is it possible to go for another 3 months deal under a different name after you cancelled previously?

One thing that may put me off is having to keeping porting number out and in which will get tiresome.
    euoi's avatar
    1. The day before it goes to full price.

    2. Yes, but also under the same name.

    3. OK....
  22. Ian_D123's avatar
Ok so I got charged £6.99 instead of the £1.99. I contacted Lebara via their online chat function and they agreed to refund me the difference back into my bank account.
    spinks's avatar
Friends had this too. They are getting wise to the PAC switcheroo trick and considering users as not new customers.
Friends called up twice now for first 2 months. Deal price not showing in MyLebara.

I’ve left for Lyca for 6 months to let Lebara cool down.
  23. bargainbonanzagalore's avatar
Those of you who took the 6 month plan few questions if you can help?

When exactly do you cancel to avoid being charged the full amount after 6 months?

When would you be able to port the number if you cancel wont it stop the plan straight away?
    andylol's avatar
Log in online, turn off auto renew before the end of 6th month.
Get a PAC before the end, and then get a new sim card with a new provider. Use the PAC and set the port date as the last date of the lebara sim.

    Job done
  24. encaser's avatar
Voice calls are fine but it's dog slow for data in Essex. I was thinking of swapping from Plusnet as it's cheaper but the data speed makes it not viable.
  25. Hotter's avatar
Does anyone know how I can transfer a number from a Lebara sim to another Lebara sim on the same account?
    euoi's avatar
If you read the comments you'll see this question has been answered about a gazillion times 🏻

For some reason my monthly DD suddenly failed, no reason given, and my promotion deal was cancelled. plenty of money in my account so why this occurred a mystery.

However, Lebara was quick to remove my promotional deal and put me onto standard PAYG. When I contacted customer services the lady said she would speak to her manager to reinstate my deal as a "gesture of goodwill" and would get back to me.... Needless to say I never heard a word from them again (edited)

It's not a direct debit, it's a continuous payment authority. Hence works with credit cards.

I had wondered if ordering a replacement card with a different number might mess this up but it didn't so not sure what happened to you as that would have been the first thing that crossed my mind if the payment failed.

Hi can someone please clarify something for me. I'm looking at using a Lebara sim just for wifi so wont need to port any numbers but once 3 months is up and cancel sim will i still be existing customer or can i apply for a new sim and be a new customer and get the new offer rates ? Also will I only be charged the introductory rate if I cancel by the end of the 3 months ?

    No, yes, yes.
