I have just gone on their site to see if their offer is still available and what a nice surprise.....
Not only that it is still available, but it actually got cheaper at £0.24 for the first 6 months.

Can someone please advise on the cheapest way to double-port?
    gardner1's avatar
Well a few months ago most people ported over to Asda Mobile for a couple of days then back to Lebara (edited)

This looks amazing but I have a couple of questions:

    1. When the 6 months is up with this sort of deal, do people just terminate the 'contract' and find another crazy introductory offer or do they stick with it and pay the normal monthly price?

    2. I'm guessing this involves you committing to giving bank details and automatic payment each month rather than topping up yourself then when the 6 months is up you just don't top up and the contract is terminated?
    brightonion's avatar
There is no contract and no commitment to this. I haven't done this before a few months back with a previous lebara offer, so no expert, but i have a dual sim phone so I keep my main number unchanged and I can switch out the crazy offer sims as you say, in the additional sim slot, without worrying about number porting or anything like that. That makes it pretty faff free. I will stop auto renewing my payment at the end of the 6 months, which is a simple option you can select on the lebara website to stop auto renewing.

I have been with Lebara for the last few weeks, having taken up their 1p offer.
Unexplicable data dropouts are weird though - it shows full signal (when outdoors) but cannot connect to the Internet for mins/hours at a time at the most inappropriate times, like using G'Maps when you need it the most for getting from A to B.
My previous network O2 was much better in this regard.

EDIT: These settings seem to work a LOT better apnphone.com/gb/…le/ (edited)

I notice this too. Can be annoying at times. Can get 5G, almost full signal, but can't download anything! On the plus side, I can now get a signal inside buildings when I couldn't before.
  4. deleted2813822's avatar
Yep... People should hold on for a bit for this to drop to a penny. Had no issues with call dropping but given that it's obvious that Lebara and Lyca make a loss on these deals, they make a big profit by selling your details. You will get frequent spam calls from everyone and anyone, and scam texts from every "courier" and "finance" company!! If you can live with that, it's worth it
    happyharry's avatar
Have 2 Lebara Sims for work and agree 100% you do suffer from a lot of spam call/texts compared to the main providers.
  5. reviewsUK's avatar
Has anyone switched Lebara plans and kept their number recently? I was going to try delinking my number then adding the new plan (as I've read on here previously), but it says it will delete my number if I delink.

Best to port out to asda sim (free) and back to lebara. No cost or topup needed

I have the SIM on the 1p per month deal for 6 months. For the life of me I can't figure out how to activate or turn it into an eSIM for my Samsung watch. Has anybody had any luck with this?
    poppycock's avatar
Lebara doesn't support e-sim I am afraid. Vodafone does but only on pay monthly plans...
  7. anjasola's avatar
    Can anyone advise please?
What is the maximum period allowed before sim must be activated ?
    mutley1's avatar
90 days someone was told by lebara customer service
  8. yomo5074's avatar
Lebara 5G? I made the mistake of switching from EE and the best I get is 4G+ with download speeds of 7mb.. 😩 (edited)
    innocent's avatar
But I bet you are paying considerably less. Its inconvenient but can always move back.
  9. simplydiscount's avatar
So does asda free sim doesn’t required to be activated for Porting in & out purpose?
    gazdoubleu's avatar
Depends what you mean by activating. I registered my Asda sim on the network and in my name but didn't need to add credit in order to use it solely for porting.
  10. JonG's avatar
Great for free roaming. I used one of these in Spain over the Summer and got reasonable signal and could use as a hotspot for my laptop. Better than 3 for reception in most places IMHO, but the best for me is O2 and then EE. I guess it depends where you live and where you go most.
    AgentBartonBones's avatar
EE and O2 show one signal bar on the location checker with me, but when I got them I had no signal service at all.
  11. connoisseur's avatar
any py and go sim where I can port in and out again without having to topup
    Frugal_Infection's avatar
ASDA seems to be the one recommended all the time.
  12. adam_2004's avatar
still waiting for the 12 gig one for 1 penny !
    AgentBartonBones's avatar
yeah if that comes up I will be on it for 5 lol...
  13. er_chiguire's avatar
Guys, does any of you know how to solve this issue?

With Lebara (or Vodafone) there is a bug: there is no way to disable the Wi-Fi calling notification sound and it pops up every second (at my work there's no mobile signal, so I can't turn WiFi calling off.. )!

It s a very common (vodafone) bug, as I can see but don t know what to do... I don t want to switch operator only for this issue..
The only way I found is to set reminders to silent, but again that s not a solution for me! (edited)
    heingericke's avatar
Try the following. I don't know what handset you're on. I'm on a Huawei P30 and have not ever had this issue despite being on WiFi calling for 2 months due to a poor signal at my house. Also, I'm using the Google branded dialler download from playstore instead of the default Huawei one. iPhone users. Can't help, sorry.

    1. Open settings and go to apps.
    48510005_1.jpg2. Apps again for me.
48510005_1.jpg3. Make sure your seeing all apps and look for a menu in the top right. Mine is 4 dots. Yours may be 3 lines. Choose show system processes.
48510005_1.jpg4. Search for or scroll down to phone services. Not phone.
    48510005_1.jpg5. Notifications
    48510005_1.jpg6. WiFi calling
    48510005_1.jpg7. Gentle notifications off
48510005_1.jpg8. You'll see this. Try turning off everything that is on. Like lock screen notifications.
48510005_1.jpg9. That should help. If not, on the previous page you'll see App Icon Badges just under WiFi calling. Turn that off instead. Only do this last alternative one if the previous method up to number 8 didn't work.
    48510005_1.jpg
Hope any of that helps. (edited)

Can anyone tell me if 4g will work?
    heingericke's avatar
In a 4g phone? Sure. I'm not sure entirely of the technology. When surfing/using data it'll be in 4g.

On my daughter's phone (Honor 9 lite) it is 4g when browsing, but switches to 3g when on a voice all. That is probably down to the old handset as it doesn't have VoLTE. Similarly my mum has a 4g LTE router with a landline phone plugged in. Her calls switch to 3g when making calls so I've switched it to 3g permanently.

I've ordered a couple more for my wife and son. Yet to see what'll happen during calls as they both are VoLTE phones.

One thing to note, Vodafone, and I think other networks also, will be switching off 3g in 2023. This I take means handsets without VoLTE and my mum's 4g LTE router are gonna have to go as they switch to 3g for calls.

I got the 20 gb deal. Reception is great. Even indoors in N. Exeter & inner city W London. I've had EE & Three and Lebara is much better.

I've never had any regret or problems. Bonus is free intl minutes. You can add cheap minutes/call countries not included by topping up on the Lebara app.
  18. 2781DJ's avatar
Lebara are a brilliant network, had no issues whatsoever. I was with them long before the 1p deal came about.
  19. innocent's avatar
Just worked it out. It's better to get 2 of these sims than the 99p sim. Please correct me if I am wrong.
    EDIT : Scorcher 🥵 (edited)

My wife ported from voxi early September and still without a working sim today. Lebara claim port has completed but no service whatsoever and if anyone calls the number it says 'invalid number'. Customer service rude, unhelpful and unable to speak English
    mutley1's avatar
yeah, heard some people say they had issue with porting. I ported from EE last month and lebara was too quick to send out an email to say the port had completed first thing in the morning, when in fact, that is just when they start the port and it takes pretty much the whole day for the port to complete.

for me, i found that outgoing works on the new sim and incoming still remained with the old sim until early evening when it finally completed. porting is always a danger with any network, so i don't think it will be particular to lebara.
  23. aleks.kowalik's avatar
    when 1p again?
    mutley1's avatar
by the end of the month, i reckon
  24. scoobytawazara's avatar
Could I use this to port out of Vodafone and back in for new Vodafone contract thanks
    kooks65's avatar
I think you'd have to pay the 49p, it is free from Asda though.
  25. beamo's avatar
I switched from voxi which is also vodafone just as I have a EU trip coming up.

So far I only get 3G at home, whereas on voxi i got 4G.
Voxi also did iphone visual voicemail.

For the price it’s cheap but after a month i’ll look at an alternative.
    t3r4's avatar
Give it a little time and restart phone etc, flick on off 4G

Check data settings for LTE are correct - some phones including iPhone they have a different section. Use settings off Lebara site.

There should be no difference from Voxi
  26. dlozuk's avatar
my mother and sister both ported ok by 10am.

if you get spam calls just register your number with TPS that way they cannot call you

Ideal for my 2nd sim in a Xaomi phone. 1st sim lebara 12gb, this will be 2nd sim and I will set phone up so once the 2nd sim as used the 3GB it will revert texts and data to the 1st sim.

Then by the time this is due to increase will cancel or end the rolling contract and get another Lebara on another email and different bank card, plus the bank I use pay for my mobile as I get this on debit with a UK ban that pays you to set up an account with them..lol...

Please explain how your bank pays for your phone

Any idea how quickly the SIM is received after online purchase?
I'm away next week and this will be very useful.
Or if it can be bought if one goes to a shop?
    moj2911's avatar
Should get it within 2 working days

Is there a way to add this deal to an existing account or do I need to create another one.

I've got a 12-month contract with Plusnet these deals make a lot of sense for for.my old phones which I can't bare to part with (edited)
    AgentBartonBones's avatar
I use Gmail and create a new alias for Lebara sims, or have in the past. Decided this time around to put this deal on an old email and create a new account. I currently have 3 sims for me with Lebara (may cancel 2 next month and just use this) and family members have a couple.
    -
On my mobile phone, I use an Internet browser to log in to Lebara to check each account, or you could use DUO or Parallel apps which allow you to create duplicate apps on Android of one app, then just use each sim with the same duplicate app.
  31. FrozenFire's avatar
I bought last month for £2/month, how can I switch to this deal?
    eamonn.hutton's avatar
Hi you can cancel your £2 SIM card contract and then just sign up to this one with a new email address then just pay 49p a month
  32. J_N's avatar
If anyone’s thinking of buying a Lebara sim for use in India it’s useless the phone calls seem to be fine but you will not get a 4G signal to browse the web or use apps. (edited)
    Crossbow's avatar
It could be a matter of having the wrong APN settings, like I had here hotukdeals.com/com…3646 but was able to sort it out with the correct ones.
These are the correct APN settings for Lebara in India: apnarena.com/en/…ia/

Anyone noticed calls cut off automatically between 23-30 mins? Spoke to lebara who said not an issue from their side but it is because another SIM works fine
    mutley1's avatar
i have heard this mentioned a couple of times and it doesn't seem to happen to everyone. i have plusnet for my dad and my brother, and they often cut the call after a few minutes!

Another benefit of Lebara that I haven’t seen discussed (not saying it hasn’t, just that I haven’t seen it and I’m not going to trawl through hundreds of posts to find out) … when I hopped from one deal SIM to another at the end of the 6 month period, I chucked to old SIM in the vacant slot on my iPad, thinking I could top it up and use it I ever had the need. Since then Lebara have regularly thrown free data at me!
