i have been googling for LED GU10's and it seems the quality of light/ luminance for even equivalent replacements is generally poor as compared to standard 240v 50w ones. An electricians forum favoured some called solarox p4's but at a price of well over 20euros per light any saving on electricity would be necessary to offset initial cost.
I suppose for areas like toilets or utility rooms then these LED lights would suffice but it seems that for kitchens etc they are not ideal as replacements, although maybe adding a few more could bring the luminance up to an accepted level.

Researched this recently, LED GU10s provide poor light , best option for energy saving are Megaman 11w GU10s, these have a coiled fluorescent tube within the device. I have bought 20 of them, not cheap though, £7-£8 /bulb minimum. Have noticed reduced electric use already.

Anyone bought from this store?

Only another 10years to go and you'll have recouped the outlay

..they are very DIM ..

1.8 W in ??

You can NOT use in the ceiling .... poss .. just an (ugly) table top LAMP/ Bulb

But then again .. if you want to buy a 2W LED Reading Light .. WITH TOP design ..with a HEALTHY white 4500 Kelvin color Temperature

go to IKEA

Jansjoe? cost you £19.95 incl flexible .. well designed stand , power adapter and LIGHT switch ..

All SAFETY standards met here !

this is real technology . .. FRONT End ...

and even after 10 years .. YOU will still LIKE it !!

Small and still works and looks 'neutral - up to date'

Ok, probably right, but I think the comment was a little OTT - lets remember the nature of light means you are likely to be in the room... but I will think twice now - thanks I think - will possibly never know if they would burn down the house.

What are these like? Been considering these myself, but wasn't sure how they'd compare to the light ouput of the standard Halogen GU10's.

I've tried these and find the light output is too low for a kitchen - other half complained bittlerly. Not a replacement - but would be fine if you put three in where there was one originally........
