Dropped in price again, now this is a proper torch!!, preffered by the Police, Aircraft Aluminium casing, focusing prism, spot to flood focus and gift boxed, selling at Play for £32.95, £34.95 at Gadgetquick, £31.95 at Digitalmediastore, 68 Five Star Customer reviews,

The Police Tech Focus Black Professional hand held torch is presented in a gift box. The Police Tech Focus has quickly built a reputation of being the preferred choice of the boys in blue. Extremely popular because of its handy compact size, weighing in at only 144gms it is also very lightweight to carry on your belt. The positioning of the on/off switch on the rear tail cap enable it to be pulled from the pouch and switched on in one motion, and also makes this torch ideal for signalling with. The contacts are 24 ct Gold and the casing aircraft aluminium.

A patented prism reflector system and a high intensity 1.25 watt LED bulb give the torch a supremely bright beam which can be adjusted to either spot focus or flood focus by twisting the head of the torch. The light output is 80 Lumens from just 3 x AAA alkaline batteries, which provide up to 50 hours of light from one set of batteries. Not bad considering a pack of 4 batteries should cost as little as £1.99.

All round our number 1 selling torch. It is supplied with a lanyard and durable nylon pouch with belt buckle for storage when the user is active.

I think it's always pretty much this price on amazon, excellent torch though. Mine has been in daily use now for well over a year (possibly 2) and never let me down, very bright and not too large.

This looks like a decent torch, but I believe that you'd be better with one from DX, such as this:

dealextreme.com/det…798

At about £6.50. Whilst the build quality won't be quite as high, its output is a little better.

Not voted either way.

Dont even compare the two here, the LED Lenser's are up there with the best for all round build and capability. Even at this price some will consider it expensive for a small torch but believe me these are exactly what you are paying for......quality.

No, I totally understand. It's the difference between buying something such as a Fenix and a DX knock-off. You're preaching to the converted!

However, the average joe could get a P7 torch for the same money as this, and if you're just interested in light output then....

I boght mine from Amazon for roughly £25 about 12 months ago.
Price has been fluctuating between £27 and £35 on Amazon in the past 6 moth though.

It's a brilliant torch to own and use. I want to get the T7 if the price drops below £30.

I have a mini Maglite (non LED), I don't really rate this so I may swap it for this Lenser which seems a good deal. Can anyone recommend a good larger torch up to £35ish (preferably less). I was looking at the SSC Aurora P7:
dealextreme.com/det…091

or the Maglite LED 4D:

amazon.co.uk/Mag…-25

Or can anyone suggest anything better. Thanks

Bargain http://elektrolumens.com/Kong/Kong-12.html only $1500

now THATS a torch!

Pfft, batteries not included for $1,500!

Bought this the last time it was on HDUK for around the same price..

It's a VERY good torch, beam goes for miles - compared to my other torches (Maglite and multiple LED ones) this outshines them all...

And only being one LED !

If you're in the market for a new torch, buy this one!

80 Lumens?
Can you actually tell a difference when you switch it on?

What's the delivery time like with DealExtreme? I'd imagine it be quite a wait if ordering from them!

DX take from 7-14 days. I usually get mine in around 7-9, but occasionally longer, depending on how popular the item is.

Thanks very much! Have some rep

Tempting.... how would this compare to my 5 million candlelight handheld spotlight?

The build quality on this will be superior to nearly all the stuff on DX, but there are some decent torches on DX as well.

On the other hand the amount of light this throws out is stated at 80 lumens. You could buy a DX torch for similar cost that will throw out 200 - 250 lumens. About 2 or three times the light output, but at a cost of build quality.

Just my 2 cents worth....

Ive got a little tiny lenser and damn its bright. Build quality is excellent.

Well, the battery life will be better for a start, but I don't think Batman will be responding to any distress calls from it

cheers for this ordered and voted hot.

I currently use a TESCO LED slim torch which I bought for £10. It is cracking but doesn't have the focus facility.

If you need the flood function which I do, this is good. If you are after a good slim torch for general use I would pop in to TESCO as theirs are cracking. That is if they still do them, it has been approx 1 year since I bought mine.

MAGLITES are outdated now, and far too bulky (but do double up as handy self defence). LED is the way forward and AAA batteries, brill!!!!

Thanks agains

Haha OK well I need something small and long lasting to carry in the car so I guess this should work pretty well. I've bought one on eBay for £21 as I had a £20 eBay voucher that needed using up.

Heat + rep has been left OP

How's this for a torch, dead flat to full charge in 90 seconds and capable of various beam strength up to 270 lumen.

nightgear.co.uk/p/4…htm

I used one of these at work and they are excellent. The best small torch you can buy the beam is very powerful and they have a good battery life too

but its only 100 lumens.DX has 900 lumens for about the same price.I know the quality might be bit lower than the lenser one, but again its fairly decent built.Does any one know how long the DX ones may last upon good usage

I use the Led Lensar P7 which is an awesome torch, replaced the maglite that was issued by work, i would rather pay the extra for this with 170 lumens than the listed one, however still a hot deal for me. They have now done a new T7 with 200 lumens if your looking for something brighter again.

Now £23.95 on Amazon

Now £27.96 !?!?

No still £23.95 - the seller listed by default is not Amazon which is still there and cheaper

I just wanted to say how pleased I am with my Police Tech torch. I've been using the past few evenings and it has more than exceeded my expectations. Not sure I'd pay £45 but at £20 - £25 it's money well spent. It has been said 100 times before but the build quality is fantastic and it is extremely bright! I just hope the batteries last 50 hours as per the manufacturer's guide.
