Re-checking the leaflet, it's a Monday 5th August deal
The deal dates aren't very clear in the leaflet

I've altered the title

hot been after a couple for a while for shed at bottom of garden but always been higher priced on amazon etc

Great find been looking for some for my garden and shed. Thank u OP

Nice one

Do these work? Not had good experiences with solar lights so far

It has a 3-year warranty. Keep the packaging and receipt. If it fails, they'll just take it back and refund. Recently had this with an instant hot water kettle from Aldi, failed after 3 months, got money back no problem.

Any ideas how powerful the LEDs are?

Good deal.

Not convinced it would be any good so for that reason i'm out !:p

Well i get the sun all day where mine are going so will give them a try and use the warranty if they fail.

Not sure yet - but Lidl advertise "10 powerful LEDs"

I can't see how you can lose on this deal

If you purchase and don't like it - take it back to the store for a full refund.

If you do like it - you have a 3 year warranty - which LIDL is offering on an external solar spotlight with 10 LEDs!

If any part of the unit fails within 3 years - you should get a refund - as long as you follow royden's advice and keep the receipt

This is supplied with a 2.5m cable between the solar panel and main unit so the lamp unit doesn't even have to be in the same "sunny" location as the panel

How can you lose?

Be honest, he's probably right. All my solar lights have failed after a year or two even with replacement batteries.

Got a solar light myself like this, although different brand. They work all year round even in winter. They aren't as bright as a spotlight, but they give enough light to see in a small area. We've got ours above front door, so we can see anyone at the door on a night. The cheaper garden lights with a tiny solar panels don't last long, but these solar spotlights tend to be better quality, and with a bigger solar panel which means more light. Had ours for a year and half now, still working fine. Neighbour got the same one, and theirs working fine too. Its a SolarBee brand by the way.

That's why - with this particular product - this is such a good deal

It's worth a punt

How many dealers selling solar lights like this offer a 3 year warranty? They would charge at least the cost of the product for the warranty alone!

If the batteries/lamps fail within 3 years - just take it back to LIDL with the receipt!

This must be be a "loss leader" for LIDL.

Take advantage of their generous company warranty policy - especially with this product

Bought 2 like this last year, neither work now.

But if you'd purchased them from LIDL - You could take them back up to NEXT year for a full refund (with the receipt)

No comparison.

Purchase the product, and if it doesn't work within the next three years - take it back to LIDL

I've also found solar lights to be very unreliable........I've also heard that after a year, Lidl will refer you to the manufacturer for the guarantee.

you can only take things back to the store within the first year after that you need to contact the manufacture and they will deal with it. found this out when returning a shredder last month but the manager was kind enough to refund as I was only 2 days late.
still a good deal as said for a solar led light with 3 year warranty

The only failures I've had with solar lights is internal corrosion, just check its a well sealed unit and you should be good to go. Have 2 sets from pound stretcher still going strong after 3 years with no battery changes. This looks a good deal as other led solar spots are much more expensive. Voted hot

Thanks for letting us know.

Bought one of these a couple of years ago from Netto for £9.99 and it was branded as Rolson but it is exactly the same. At the time it was posted on here as a deal and someone recomended using a sealant gun to make it watertight. I did this sealing the solar panel and battery case and it has worked perfectly since the day I put it up. I think people who say it stops working have probably suffered with water getting into some part of it.
It won't light up your garden but will give enough light to light up a doorway or inside a garden shed. As someone else has said it works as well in winter as summer but ours is on a south facing wall so that must help.

I bought two from Amazon and they are really good value for money. Would get another if I needed it but I don't!

On the Lidl website now

Just gotten one of these today , easy to fit went up in 10 mins LEDs seem bright in daylight , going to go back for a couple more for the front of the house

went into my local Wembley store at 9.45am. none left. the store had left their delivery sheet of the Mondays offers near the racks and they had a grand total of 6 for the store. similar story with other good buys. looks like lidl are just drawing us into the stores with minute quantities of loss leaders......

Hope i can find one.

I tried 2 lidl's near me (Fareham, Gosport) at lunchtime and both had sold out already....

bought one this morning, plastic casing is not that tough, its IP44 only. You can easily change the horrible cheap batteries x3 inside for something better, i'll probably put eneelop type in mine or a 2500mAH - for the price its good

I tried 3 lidls on my way home from work, Leasowe, Kensington, and Huyton and they were all gone.
