Is it as addictive as crack or heroin?

If it is half as nice as Lao Gan Ma's Crispy Chilli Oil, then yes, yes it is.

Lao Gan Ma

I only found the stuff by accident when I was surfing the web/YouTube just before Christmas.
It looked interesting, and Amazon had it, so I bought some.
I added a spoon of the Crispy Chili Oil to a bowl of plain boiled rice, mixed it in, took a bite, and became instantly addicted, and I don't mean that lightly.
For the last 5 weeks or so, I have had this sauce at least once a day, usually 2 or 3 times. I have tried it with everything, including ice cream.
I mentioned it to some people in my Office, they tried it, and most of them are now hooked.

I'm not sure about the Lee Kum Kee version flavour but it's likely similar. The Lao Gan Ma has a spicy (hot but not overpowering) funky umami flavour with a crunchy texture which just blows your taste buds away. It's been described as a Marmite sauce in that "You'll either love it or you'll hate it", although it doesn't taste like marmite.

I have currently 6 jars in the cupboard.

My name is bangytupper, and I am a Crispy Chilli Oil addict. It has been 4 hrs since my last fix.

How many other people have you got addicted to this stuff?

It's nearly time for the mid afternoon fix, and I am already getting antsy.

Stay strong
it's a tasty chilli oil but sadly full of unnecessary msg

I've resorted to making my own chilli oil
For those that don't have a Tesco convenient to them, you can get 6 jars 170g from Amazon S&S for £11.70 or £12.00 one-off

Good brand. If only people didn’t keep buying that utter rubbish from Blue Dragon.
If you like chilli oil then this is a nice chilli to buy. It's not burning hot and tastes nice too.
Is this like the chilli oil you get with the Chinese takeaways and restaurants ?
Just seen a very offensive comment above. Reported. Voted hot for the deal

If it is it doesn't affect your health or family to the same extent, so it wouldn't be worth worrying about. I have smoked Crack and Heroin at the same time, so I can tell you from experience they are definitely worse than Chilli Oil. I would point out that it's been 2 years since I was doing that and I'm not going back. I survived that I can survive a Chilli Oil deal.

Hmmm, sounds tasty, will try to find in my Tesco's as I am always coming back from Asia with 300-400£ worth of food products, mostly cooking mixes/sauces
Gonna try it
2nd only to the stuff served at won keis (by the awesome "blunt" waiters enforcing their effective seating management) mmmmmm off to dream about their duck noodle soup and BBQ pork on rice

I've been addicted to Lao Gan Ma for years. I have 60 jars of it currently in my kitchen - I'm not even joking. I bought in bulk. Be careful - I don't know what they put in their products, but a chinese person told me they put drugs in it. The black bean chilli oil is the one you want - that is the best one. I add it to everything.
