It's not half price, just cheaper than the standard 330ml bottles. It's still expensive compared to the French prices

It was marked down from £12 something in my Barnstaple store . That's got to be half price surely?

£2/litre or 20p/100ml is indeed cheap for this, normally retails anywhere between 35p and 50p/100ml.

7.36 euros in France which makes Tesco deal slightly cheaper for now (won't last long though )

Its less than half price, was £12.99!

Fab lager/beer.
Was some in Llanelli Trostre
considerably less after I was there though ;-))

I love this stuff, one of he few beers worth drinking, few too many last night though so think I'll pass for now.....

We're not in France, so this is a good price.

6.6% strong for beer, not tried this yet any good ?

Love this beer, but last time my local extra had a deal on this they only had the carry cases and the big bottles, hope they have some this time.

I didn't say you were, I was merely pointing out that Leffe is normally overpriced in this country. It may have been marked down in certain stores, but in both my local stores it is not, nor is it on the website?

Good price in any case. I just wish they would start stocking the other flavours.

Oui, oui.

No

it is different but nice, and to some an acquired taste

Really nice once u get used to it. Was full price in my local Tesco though. Gutted.

why compare it to french prices, it's not french. why not compare it to irish prices as that's where hukder's are more likely to be able to drive to.

either way, fantastic beer, and you feel so much more sophisticated if you're able to drink it out of the proper glass.

£2 per litre has to be the best bang per buck of any supermarket beer in the uk right now.

undisputably hot.

Last time this was on Special (flagged up on here) we got a few boxes cheap. My wife and I hate it, even now only have it if nothing else - we have to mix it with lemonade lol. It just tastes like yeast (and I can normally drink anything). We gave a box to my brother in law for Christmas and he sent it back! Just a heads up if you haven't tried it don't buy gallons :-)

Nice beer, nice price

Cheers, ticket still £12.99 in mine, but scanned at £6

Anyone know if this is available in any northern Ireland stores?

Tastes like oui oui like all lagers

hate this stuff. way too sweet like drinking syrup.

Beer for blondes? Whatever next?

Love this but my local never seems to stock any.

It's Belgian. It's a blonde beer. It's quality. If you drink **** like Fosters or only care what the % is before buying alcohol dont buy this and leave some on the shelves for someone with some taste.

A handsome beer with an acquired taste. Had a few of these last year in Belgium at about 4 euros a glass. Heat added.

Spot on.......

This is nice stuff - anyone see if the dark version was on offer?

I love Leffe. I was on a night out once and asked for a pint. The woman at the bar said, "Sorry, we don't do pints as it's quite strong lager". I thought that was fairly responsible actually so I asked for two halfs instead.

Vulgar Beer

None in Altrincham store. None on the shelves so I asked and was told it was a special promotional price and they wob't be getting anymore. Boo

It's definatley an aquired taste if you're used to the regular s## served in UK bars.

It is fairly reasonable (Not as good as Chimay or Le Trappe) or even the Leffe triple.

Leffe Vieille Cuvée is good as well but I don't think you can get anymore even in Belgium (Only saw 9% that is mediocre compared to allot of the other beers you can get there).

Westvleteren 12 is a Belgian beer and the best beer money can buy. (Leave it for a few years prior to drinking it in the bottle). Problem is the amount of hassle it is to get hold of.

I wouldn't say its an acquired taste its the only beer that tastes nice. (Cannot drink p**s week no taste filtered mass produced lager / rather drink decent red wine or brandy / or Belgian Lager).

Never get a hang over to speak of from this stuff either which might help some people.

Tasty beer, but my favourite is 'Palm' which is difficult to find in the uk.

I'll check out my local Tesco for this deal this morning. Thanks OP

Korsendonk is a good one as well if u can get it. Won't be able to get them beers of u in Chester mate, just realised i'm getting the train over so i'd struggle getting them back over the other side of the country again. Sorry.

Ive tried to like this beer many times alongside the likes of Hoegaarden, but I've sucumbed to the fact just dont like the taste.

And before Im whisked into the Carling/Fosters crowd, I do like my ales, beers and largers. Im a CAMRA member and am fan of Bavarian largers, so have visted Munich a number of times.

Horses for courses though and a good deal for some.

Agree with most of the comments on here - it's a different taste to your usual larger, but oh so much nicer. I tend to find with the FYP largers of the world (Fosters, Carling, Carlsberg etc) I can just neck pint after pint, but with Leffe I drink in smaller quantities and savour the taste a lot more. Got some St Omer Abbaye from france a while back and that was very nice as well. Currently working my way through some Grimbergen Blonde and Brun which I can also recommend (if you like Leffe).

For the ladies, I can recommend Leffe Ruby !

Nice spot

Is this not the same deal that was posted by Biggysmalls last week????

I find that Bavarian/German lagers are closers to most British lagers (which I don't like) and quite different to Belgian beers.
Leffe is one of the few good Belgian beers to make it over here, but I wish they'd hurry up and start importing some of the others, especially the Trappist beers like Orval, and some local beers like Straffe Hendrik from Brugge and whilst we (wrongly) have Stella Artois as an *upmarket* pile of twaddle (which taste of vomit on a good day), the Belgians get Jupiler as their staple run of the mill beer from the same brewery IFRC and leave Stella for the tourists... And Jupiler is more drinkable than Fosters, Tennents, Buds, Miller, and just about every other beer common over here.

My stocks from an October trip to Brugge are nearly depleted! Grr!
