Better to give this as the link: http://store.steampowered.com/app/500/

done ;-)

Was just playing it for an hour I love this game!

It's available for a one-day trail too I think. Not my type of game though but great price.

This isn't that big of a sale compared to other Steam deals - HMV online have this boxed at 17.99, for example. Sure, it's still savings, but not as extreme as you might be hoping.

The game is fun of course, although the DLC is pretty much just an extension of the finalies of each campaign.

Downloading right now

HEAT + REP!

There is a whole new campaign coming! Plus I found Survivor to be great fun, adds much more of a team aspect to the whole thing, it's quite satisfying when you've lasted 20 minutes and taken out 20 or so tanks :w00t:

And considering the original game was great, the extra free content is brilliant. Heat added!

A new campaign was what I was expecting from the DLC to begin with, that's why I guess I was a bit disappointed with survivor. Not to say it isn't fun, I just went back to Versus shortly after. :whistling:
I've never survived 20 minutes, mind you.

I was gutted I missed L4D when it was £13.99 so I've been waiting for another similar offer on steam, heat and rep for you

Was £13.95 at Shopto (shopto.net/PC/…tml) but they are out of stock at the moment. Might be worth checking there every so often...

good deal, just bought it off steam, heat added !

Good to see nobody has bothered posting the HAWX deal ...

LOL ... Valve are having a laugh arn't they?

Looking at find-games.co.uk/pc/…htm it's available Retail for £17.99, yet the best they can do is offer a sale price of £26.24 for a digital download.

Thanks, but no thanks !!!

Surely Valve and the publishers have access to the internet and can see what Retail prices are ??? Don't they ???

Why on earth would I consider paying more for a digital download?

They must be compelled to compensate for scorching deals like last week's Orange Box (and Peggle pack before that) with stinkers like that one. :whistling:

i don't know if i should get this...

i already have it on XBOX 360 & have an offline PC copy *coughpiratecopycough*
but should i buy it so i can play PC online?....

I find it gets boring offline after a run-through of the campaigns. Playing with humans is just so much more interesting, it even adds a "who could you trust" element when you find your "friends" took all the health packs or aren't willing to leave the safe house to help you. Not to mention the awesome Versus mode where you can play as the special infected. Having said that, I'm not really sure how different it is to xbox - better aiming is all I can think of.

But should you get it now? Debatable - I don't think this is that good a deal. Fortunately you can try it out for a few more hours free (it's available for 24 hours), that might help you make up your mind.

Apparently retailers aren't happy for valve to be under-cutting their price. Otherwise what would be the point in stores stocking them? Digital downloads are the future and Valve offer an excellent service.

I can understand retailers putting pressure on publishers, but do they really ask for digital downloads to be double the price?

Valve have stated clearly they don't set the prices for the Steam store, it's the publishers that do. So yes, publishers are obviously asked for digital downloads to be at one price and selling into retail at a far lower price.

I've only bought a couple non-valve games at full price via Steam, but my Steam account now has 108 games - mainly from the deals available on Steam

For me, I'd be happy with Steam games being a few quid more expensive than retail. I think the way Steam works is great, I don't have to worry about DVD's and I can just download everything again on my new PC
