I know this is going to be voted arctic cold but thought it's worth a post for the collectors out there. Seems extremely difficult to find on Amazon UK for some reason (found the direct link from Reddit) and it's only just recently gone up.

Should hopefully drop in price as it has done over in US.

Expensive but a very nice looking guide (and will probably go up in value if older Zelda guides are to be believed)

Hope this helps a few people!

Hah - nice edit

pre-ordered just in case it gets sold out super quickly, but if it stays at this price I'll probably cancel it before release...

Hoping this drops in price like the american one did - $79 to $49...

Might be a touch hopeful though.

Indeed... I have an order in with Amazon.com. It's at least good to see local stock and I'll place an order here also in the hope of a drop, but if nothing is forthcoming then I'll end up cancelling this one.

wtf... that's obscene. The Zelda hardback guides have always been around £20

I swear they're getting more ridiculous with this stuff now.

We've had normal limited edition hardbacks for £20 up until now.

Now the special edition art & artefacts and this going for £65.

Seems that's the new special edition price.

I wonder how much more luxurious the cover is.

Anyway, if it's limited, then it'll go for much more on eBay

Please say this includes the game too!

If not rip off of the year and total price gouging, though it's becoming something of a pattern with Nintendo stuff, stick the word Nintendo or any of their top two franchises (Mario & Zelda) on there and you can charge whatever you like apparently.....

£64 for a guide, seriously?

wow.....just wow!

Put the words 'Nintendo', 'official' and 'Zelda' together and you've got a licence to print money it seems.

I've been on HUKD long enough to know how this was going to go down

Never understood the need for guides for games

64.13 what? lol amazon having a laugh

Anyone got experience with how amazon packs stuff like this, ive completely forgotten if they even bubble rap it?

40+ more than the normal collectors guide for a nicer cover and a few short extra sections. Crazy price.

Same here. May as well not buy the game n watch someone else play it. If you get stuck on a bit there's bound to be loads of vids on YouTube.

Not going to post as a deal as I'm sure it'll be voted cold into oblivion … Not going to post as a deal as I'm sure it'll be voted cold into oblivion due to the price

I remembered you saying this on the great big HUKD Nintendo thread so I think you deserve some heat for being brave enough!

These are commonly bought primarily as collector's items, especially the more premium editions.

You caught me!

Firstly, you can just use guides when you get stuck - not for the whole game.
Finding some stuff online is a real pain sometimes
Guides can be helpful.

Secondly, ironically the more expensive ones aren't expected to be used.

This especially won't be opened by most buyers I think.

They're collector's items.

It is a bit nuts I guess.

I've bought two collector's guides, but got both for around £7 each - when they retail at £20.

They are nice, with cloth maps etc. But I've not even opened mine - yeah. Anyway.

They don't really do this for Mario as much. It's just Zelda stuff.

The value lies in the after market. This stuff will go for more on eBay, because people are willing to pay for it.
It's all a bit self reinforcing. They can charge a lot, as it'll go for more in the after market, so people buy it, etc.

I don't know. Anyway, it does seem to have escalated a bit.

The skyward sword wii mote special edition for example was actually a cheap way to get a wii mote.
It retailed at around £45 with a gold wii mote, game, and sountrack CD!

That was crazily good value for money.

Now not so much. Although TPHD wasn't bad value.

To buy all the new Zelda stuff this year though, at full retail, you'd have to spend a lot!
Breath of the wild - £90
Art and artefacts special edition - £65
This - £65
Collector's edition guide - £25

... more will come.

30th anniversary after all.

25th anniversary was good value though!

I guess they want to recoup switch R&D costs!

Good to see that it got the drop that I was hoping would come, even if not quite as much as might have been hoped. Still, it's enough to make this slightly cheaper than my Amazon.com order + deliery
