A ticket to a football match, theatre or concert will likely cost you more than £40. You get 2 hours (ish) of entertainment, unless you watch Manchester United obviously. A great game (which this is) will give you potentially 100 times that for the same price. Really don't see how some refer to games as overpriced.

Cheapest yet!
Amazing game, crazy how the price hasn’t budged since it’s release through.
Anyone determined if this is national? It just that store clearing out?
I know some people are price-sensitive... but would people really wait nearly 2 years to save 17%?

I was just about to say the same, even with the Wii U version now fully emulated on PC the prices don't seem to move much.

Was thinking the same
A bargain at twice the price. Such a great game.

I've not got it because I refuse to spend £50 on the game, plus I would probably want to get the DLC so that's more.
Just picked one up in Folkestone Park Farm. Was priced higher but took it to the till and it went through at 39.99.

I know it's cheeky but I'm not going to open it and if it's still the same price when nectar double up is on I'll take it back and buy it again using some vouchers
Just picked up at that price from Gloucester Quays.
How is this generating this much heat? It's been out for over 18 months!

It’s seriously worth it, I must of played it for 200 + hours. Never played a Zelda game before instantly fell in love with it.

Because it's a good price from a reputable dealer.

That this is a good price for a game that has been out for 18 months just shows how good a game it is. Zelda games keep their value
Just picked up the last one from Worcester. Cheers for the heads up OP.

It is 100% worth £50, easily one of the best games from the past 10 years. The DLC on the other hand, while not bad, it's not worth the £££ IMO.

Kind of gutted I didn't wait until the switch deal with odyssey and zelda since I've not got too much out of it. Still personally I don't really want to support paying so much for games, especially for a Wii U game, PC deals have probably spoiled me. Plus I'm not sure if it may be a little over-hyped. If it does ever come down, it will still be the same game at least and there are a number of games I still haven't got round to playing. Also a little gutted at missing Twilight Princess when it was like £25.
IMHO it's an average game at best. 4 boring easy boss battles. The combat is clumsy. Vast map that feels empty. Infuriating durability on weapons that cannot be repaired. Crappy cooking mechanics, once I discover a recipe why don't I get a quick cook menu? Side quests are boring and worse than ACs. The music and graphic design are top notch though. I feel if another company made this same game it wouldn't get all the praise. Yes it's just my opinion but there are much better RPGs out there.

I think video games are cheap considering the amount of hours of gaming time you get for your money. Some games have more lifespan than others.
A few years ago all I played was Fifa and Cod. Zelda on the switch has changed what type of games I play now. I wish I’d discovered Zelda sooner.
Tempted to pick it up even though my housemate has a Chinese copy. It's £38/39 on eBay though.

I've spent over 300 hours before the DLC. That's 16p an hour... You da fool.
As someone who loves videogames, the price of the switch, and more importantly, the games, is what's holding me back buying one.

Heat regardless as this is a good price, but man, if Nintendo don't drop some big titles I don't see how thr Switch can keep surviving and not just become a new wii U
Brighton store (near station) had Zelda, Odyssey and Rabbids all for £39.99 if it helps someone

Yeah but I'm not sure I can resist not getting the DLC too D:. Plus I personally think adjusting pricing based on coffees or per hour excuses overcharging and is dependant that I'm completely into it. I could say that I got great value from my 323 hours of terraria for about 4 quid, or a couple of hours in skyrim for more, but I wouldn't say that would be completely fair representations of those games. While I got value out of the indie terraria, that doesn't mean it'd be worth £30-50, and while I only got a couple of hours out of skyrim, that doesn't mean that it isn't worth the higher price to others.

But as I say, PC has kind of spoiled me. If I stuck to console post PS2 era, perhaps I'd be less hesitant.
Great price! Just seen this in my local sainsburys
After missing the Amazon deal, I managed to pick one up from the Chadwell Heath store (there was only 1 left!). Nearby Ilford store had no stock. Probably worth calling CS and getting them to check the various stores for stock and reserving rather than trekking out. The price on display is the original but scans through at £39.99. Thanks OP

£39.99 in Leeds...
How long is this likely to stay discounted for? I'd like to use my double-up voucher but they can't be used till the 12th

Applying your same logic, a weekend away gives me around 10 hours of enjoyment for around 300 quid.
I should therefore be more than happy to pay at least 250 for a game that gives me so many more hours of enjoyment.

"should...?". No. The point was that for what you get, in context, the value isn't that bad for this one particular game.

Nintendo fans logic, 18 months old game for 40 quid is a deal. Mind you I just bought a Switch and I picked up Zelda but Nintendo prices are just ridiculous.

If a product continues selling extremely well at its full price (which this has), discounts will most likely be few and far between (which has been the case here). This price is the lowest base price since release. That says it all

Or most likely Nintendo keeps prices up because they know they can get away with it.

It was this price in Bicester today. There was a £49.99 sticker on the box but there was a promotional sticker on the shelf.
Saw this in Grantham store today, too. Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2 were also listed at £39.99. Mario Party and Kart were still £44.99 on the shelf
For anyone on the fence about this just let it go.

I have been playing for about two weeks after having a sealed copy since Xmas.

It’s amazing. The rest of your life can go on hold. Really really going in to the top 5 of all time stuff.
