How is it a moot point? I voted hot as well, it's a good price. I'm simply informing people so they don't buy something they don't want because of something that isn't explicitly stated (if I bought this, I would be disappointed that it doesn't match, for obvious reasons). You know, to be helpful. No need to be rude.

Should be noted that LEGO changed the colour of these from dark green to bright green. So it may not be the same colour as any older base played you have.

There's a good photo in the description that shows it better than the main photo:

So it will (unless it’s old stock) not be the same colour as any older base played you have (you’ll know if you have bright green or green because green is what you’d expect from your standard green brick).

Random question but do they still make/sell the even larger versions? I have some v large ones from a child which my son now uses but could do with more.

Uhhh no it's not, these aren't even "extra" large just the same standard baseplate with a flexy plastic material. Grey is the largest you can get and near a decent price point.

They do big grey ones (48x48 studs) but only small green/white/blue ones (32x32 studs). You might be able to find some big ones from an old set on Bricklink?

I gave them the benefit of the doubt it was a glitch but it's been so long now, and I'm sure many people have reported it, that I'm starting to get suspicious...

Because there is no alternative. It’s not like you can get the other old green base anyway.

If they hadn't done this attempt to deceive customers I would still post deals from Amazon and buy the odd item but this has really left a bad taste for me.

Yep, have got both types. Cheeky how they state ‘extra large’.
I'm lucky my local Tesco had these for £3.50 in September still got them sealed.

Waiting for somewhere (other than Amazon) to reduce the Blue and White 32x32 baseplates and hopefully the 48x48 baseplate.

My old 48x48 is now nearly 10 years old and is starting to show its age with 3 or 4 cracks from where I'd bend the plate to remove a piece cause at the time I had no brick separators (a piece I have about 20 of now).

Ah yes that's the one! The ones I have are also grey, just really like the size as you can place a few smaller builders on them to make a little set up etc. Thanks for your reply
Dag nam it, I was gonna post this last night but then I looked through previous deals for it and they were all £4.50 & £5 and got like 200 degrees so I thought ‘Na’. Just shows you.

Lego invest heavily on QC, unlike Wilko. Apple and Pear argument.
These bases easily warp even brand new you cant really pin a lego house to the middle it will just pop off...
Ordered 2 thanks
Cool, this will go with the 10696 deal from last week
Got mine today. They are a very different green to existing ones we already have. Even with the same I'd number. Just be aware these will be lighter... Not sure why
Seems expensive for a 10x10 piece of plastic...?
Voted cold.
Voted hot. Though I'm more of a stickle brick person
Good price
Same price in tesco
I just bought one in Argos, much more expensive
Whats the difference between the lego one and cheaper 3rd party ones you can get from other shops?
Edited by: "Immortal-Cat" 3rd Jun
Great for the kits! Mine would love it!
Heat, but still a lot of money for a square bit of plastic...
