Sometimes I see a notification at the checkout that says it will be dispatched in its original box and gives an option to be dispatched in an Amazon box instead. I guess it's to save the environment by cutting down on packaging. Especially for gifts it's worth checking how it's going to be dispatched.

You shoud've called them, you'll probably get 50% off or even a full refund. I complained when an Architecture Paris set arrived with a small hole in the front, I was refunded in full and told to keep it.

I did they told me I’d get a £10 credit (originally offered £5) and to send it back for refund
